Since I'm The First One Who Felt Like It I'll Start The MMP

Hope your Mom gets better Doggio.

Taters, as I’ve been telling Wifey for the last several years, if I ever buy another mower, it’ll be a monster good 'en. Life’s too short to spend an extra hour every time mowing the lawn, cause your mower’s a POS.

(We have a crappy mower with a good engine. It doesn’t do anything very well, but it just won’t die completely.)

Mooon, glad your retirement picture is looking good. Retirement isn’t that much fun without money.

I got seriously hit on at the gym today. And not one of those “he misunderstood because he wishes he could get hit on at the gym” things either.

It was more of a “hi, you weren’t around last week were you? I missed seeing you - when you’re done here, you feel like catching a quick lunch, drink or something?”

Hmmm.

In other news… I guess I have no other news. Life is dull today.

**Taters - good luck with the interview. Knock 'em dead! And don’t bother with a mower - just get a goat!
**
{{{doggio & mom}}}

**Bumba **- if the money wasn’t there, I wouldn’t be retiring. I’ve gotten used to living indoors and eating regularly.

**BusDude **- you studmuffin, you! Um, my sis didn’t hit on you did she? Not to suggest she’s that type…

**lieu **- drought is scary. We had a bad one here a few years back. Not this year, tho. it’s raining now and the yard was already squishy. Hope the long-range forecasters are wrong.

My first day as boss was interesting. I got dumped on with a quick-turn-around question right before a meeting and right before lunch. But I handled it all, 'cause I’m good! And in the meeting, I got to get some of our intel folks working on something for me, so yay for that. Then afterwards, I wrote up the notes from the meeting to share with the team, and got a laugh from that. It was not the most serious of notes, tho it did cover all the vital info. Then I was trying to explain to a coworker that the thing he was calling a lake on a map was, in fact, desert. How can a person not know how to use a map legend??

Did any of you see the video of the Air France mega-jet that clipped the Delta commuter? Besides the bent metal, I suspect they’ll be cleaning seat cushions on the commuter - that sucker was spun on the ramp. YOIKS!!

I’ve got a ham steak thawing for supper and the last three twice-baked-N.O.T. coming to room temp also. I’m thinking green beans, and maybe some pineapple for on the ham. Quick and easy supper.

Happy Tuesday. 8 more days as boss.

Good luck in the interview Taters!

The same is true for washers. We’re a week out from getting rid of our POS washer that won’t wash more than two towels or two pairs of jeans at a time. And it takes an hour and a half to wash those two towels. Spending my life doing laundry is not acceptable. So we finally - after years of me complaining - have someone coming to pick up the old one. Yay!

Still can’t kick this cold. :frowning:

I would eat my young, but, y’know, I gave up meat for Lent. Two more weeks…
Why do I have to break out in a pollen rash as soon as it gets warm? Yuck.

Yay for retirement FCM!

Prayers for you and your mom doggio.

Yay for good news from the doc herbs!

Taters, good luck with the interview! My lawn is very squishy as well, and is also full of moss. :frowning: A lawn mower needs to be purchased, but it is a mystery to me as to what I should be looking for. I have better than a third of an acre, and if I am going to be the one who mows I guess it ought to be a riding mower. Any opinions y’all?

It’s nice to have someone express an interest, go you MBG!

taxi I have felt your pain. I have a set of laundry machines that my parents gave me as a housewarming gift (along with a fridge/freezer) that I love. High efficiency front loading washer, it is, almost, a pleasure to do the laundry!

I don’t know about Taters location, but further north on I5 the sky is blue, the sun is shining, and it’s 52°F, which counts as a nice spring day in my world!

I am feeling Teh Sick coming on, spring colds bite.

If you can’t get a riding mower, definitely get a self-propelled mower with a wide base.

My first house was just under a 1/3 acre lot. It took 2 1/2 hours to mow on a good day. If the grass was high due to rainy weather, it took longer. But, for the most part I actually didn’t mind mowing the lawn that much. My husband did it mostly, but when he was an over the road trucker, I took care of the yard on my own. Even when he came home to drive locally, I still would mow the lawn every so often. It’s kind of mindless work and a good stress buster.

The sky is blue down here too (Ft Lewis/Tacoma area). I don’t know what it’s like at home. It’s turning out nicely, but I’m stuck in a windowless office, so I can’t enjoy it.

Back to work…

Good luck on the interview, Taters, and sending prayers to your Mom, Doggio. Hurrah on getting a new washer, Taxi, and get well vibes sent your way too.

Two down, three to go!

::zoom::

Rosie’s sig to all. And to me, too. Today has been crappy with a side of “stupid sales meeting I didn’t even want to go to because I don’t care.”

::mooz::

Prayers and good thoughts headed out for your mom, doggio. Keep us updated on how she’s doing.

Also made me giggle and grin. As much as the original comment.

Hope things start to look up soon, Spaz.

Two internet fun things: It’s 50 years since the first manned space flight and they released a documentary to celebrate. It includes footage shot from the cupola of the International Space Station that shows what the Earth must have looked like to Gargarin. Here it is on YouTube. It can be downloaded for free as well.

Also, I found a link to this video on niece’s FB wall. Cute. I can also see the appeal to your average angsty teenage girl.

We had rain most of the day, which means everything is turning green and sprouting and blooming at an alarming rate. I haven’t mowed yet, but will need to do so on the next non-rainy day. I have a very small area to mow, so I have a cordless rechargeable mower which I love. No oil or gas or sparkplugs.

Everything I planted on Sunday seems to be doing very nicely. Yay!

Off to watch stuff on the intertubes and knit for a while.

Hugs all.

GT

Good luck on the interview Taters! Knock 'em Daid!

Long pig for Easter Dindin LiLi?

Wiki I say go for a ridin’ mower with a push mower to do trim work. Oh and as for the push mower, follow Tater’s advice and get a self-propelled. You will not regret that.

Yay for the new washer taxi!

Dindin was sammiches and chips cause, well, I got lazy. Tomorrow is soup ‘n sammich night at the church house. Thursday shall be pot roast methinks. Well, really it should be pot roast bein’ as I have a thawed out roast in the fridge.

BusDude you dawg you!

ETA: First on two!

Good news: Taxen are done.

Better news: I don’t owe my left testicle this year.

Bad news: I nearly had a heart attack doing them. I used Turbo Tax, which displays a running estimate of owe/refund. Enterd my W2, and I was ahead $1300. Entered a 1099 for a 401(k) withdrawal, and another for VWife’s disability, and it said I owed $18k. I went back to see what was wrong, and I entered an extra digit for a value in my 1099. :smack: Fixed that, and they owe me $1500.

As usual, VA owes me, and I owe NC about $350 after they get my VA refund.

I hate taxes, even if I get refunds.
Mumper Formerly Known As Wiki, I happen to have a riding mower with a 38" deck for sale. You have to come get it…

A brief lull in the day - A is back at work, flu or food poisoning, sort of woozy, but good to have her in. B is nothing too serious, ER screwed up, she needs an eye exam and new glasses. Whew.

Boss is delivering returns tonight. I wasn’t looking forward to roaming Los Altos Hills!

If I get home at a reasonable hour, I’ll have roast green garlic and asparagus for dinner. The asparagus is so tender, I can almost eat it raw.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 48 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 82 for the day. So, it’s a cool down! What? That’s coolish Spring weather around heah.

Shadow glad to see things have calmed down somewhat at irk.

BBBobbio I hate doin’ taxes too even though I always get a refund.

Now, I shall seek out more caffiene and figure out some brekkie for rumbly tummy. Then I must purtify for irk. This afternoon I have to go to lovely (and it really is a pretty town) Thomasville, Jawja. I also have to go there Firday mornin’. Two different reasons but two 130 mile round trips in three days. I shall use company vehicles because I can and I’d rather.

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

Blurf. Did not sleep well last night.

actually fully dressed - sipping coffee - will take my meds on my way out, once my tummy has food in it. We’ll see if this change of order of things makes for a better day…

Up, caffeinated, off to irk. Might make a doctor’s appointment for my foot, since it still hurts. Especially after my friend’s 150lbs dog stepped on it last night.

Glad you have a little help, Shadow.

Up and at 'em. Didn’t sleep well either… Yawwwwwwwn.

Hugs all.

GT

g’morning all! I’m up and caffeinated, but not going in to work today. I’m nauseous and have a headache. I’ve had a bit to eat, but am getting ready to go back to sleep.

Doggio, sending healing thoughts to your foot! That dog must be huge!! Sending healing thoughts out to everyone else who needs them, too.

Happy Hump Day all! At least it will only be 2 more days after today until the weekend.

Blurf.

I slept better last night, with some medicinal help, and now I’m kinda groggy. Caffeinating, but it isn’t helping much. Maybe I should eat something.

Not too busy today <so far!> so I’ll concentrate on doing my “development plan” work. I’ve been assigned to learn how to do stress calculations, particularly on bolts and stuff, so I can make sure I choose the right size for the job. It will be kinda fun! I know, I’m a dork.

Have a great day! Healing vibes to squished feet and bad tummies and heads…
