Since I'm The First One Who Felt Like It I'll Start The MMP
Sadly, the POS washer that I’m getting rid of was a high-efficiency front-loader..
We’ve been pleased as punch with our LG washer. The only time we’ve ever managed to unbalance it was when we tried to wash a bathroom rug. As for the high spin, it almost makes a dryer superfluous.

Coasters? Why didn’t I think of putting out coasters? Well, I did put out coasters. Scattered half a dozen of them on the two tables, but that wasn’t enough for some folks to get the hint. Maybe next time I’ll cover the furniture with newspapers as if we were about to disembowel and carve jack-o-lanterns.

DH passed the psych testing, so he’s one step closer to a Roux-en-Y.

I finally gave up on the wimpy electric lawn mower. Sears was having a sale, so now I’ve got the best mower I’ve ever had. I’ve had my share of crappy mowers that don’t start and seem like they’re falling apart at the end of the first season. This one’s guaranteed to start on only one or two pulls, with no fooling around with priming or a choke.

Taxes are done. Yay! Still need to do local taxes, but those only take about 5 minutes. I’m going to owe them money, so I may not do them till the weekend.

Off to bed I go…

Hugs.

I’m excited. I just joined a local CSA and I ordered about $40 worth of 16 different organic fruits and vegetables which I get to pick up on Friday. I’d been wanting to join one for a while but the only one I knew of had a limited number of people in it and you either had to opt for a full box or half box $40 or $20 and you didn’t get to pick what produce you got, you just got what was available.

I finally remembered to try searching again and found this group which doesn’t require a membership fee or weekly purchase or minimum amount and you get to pick what you want, but it is a first come first served. I didn’t get any heirloom tomatoes but next time I will log on as soon as the list of available produce is available. I’ve not been eating well lately and I’ve been craving fresh foods so I am hoping I won’t let any of these go to waste.

And I support local organic farms!

Man With a Cat I like it.

The One That Got Away Isn’t it one of those things which give the people/situations you got away from “rental space for free in your head”? I like how it sounds but I don’t think it works as a long-term name.

SoxFan The team or the cat? dodge

Taters, if your resume already shows you have the skills, then I guess whether you’re a good fit is the main question.

The team that left me lunchless on Monday came down on Tuesday; we had lunch with one of our biggest bosses (he’s just under VP level, I think, this company’s roster is complicated) and we were talking about this recent incident where a programmer we had got into a (verbal) fight with one of the cleaners and didn’t get escorted off premises on account that it was his last day. Mr Late, my immediate boss, said that he blamed the problems we’d had with that guy on not having had a face-to-face interview, “on the phone he sounded very energetic and enthusiastic” “Oh, he was energetic and enthusiastic in person, too! Hiperactive and unfocused but hey, he was very enthusiastic about whatever latest shiny object had closed his field of vision. Lack of energy was not the problem, and over the phone or in person, you don’t recognize one of those guys unless you’ve met one before.”

Up, uncaffeinated, not going to irk  Car’s almost wholly loaded. I can haz a few weeks home, an electrical problem fixed and a new job, preferably north of Madrid but south of France?

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 50 Amurrkin out with a promised high of around 84. Nice day!

Taters yay on makin’ the list. Glad it’s not MOOOOOOM’s The List cause that does not sound like a happy list.

Coyote I read your post and went, “ummm… CSA? Are we seceeding again but only on the local level this time?” :stuck_out_tongue:

gotti put plastic on all the furniture next time, even the tables. Or, a make a big sign that says…

USE THE DANG COASTERS YA BIG BUNCH OF RAISED BY WOLVES UNCOUTH YARD APES!!!

I believe in subtley.

Now, I need more caffiene and brekkie for rumbly tummy. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

I survived the 3 mile bicycle commute this morning. 'Tis better to look down at the grass, than up.

Gotti, is the wimpy electric mower corded, or battery? I’ve considered a battery mower, first for trimming at the old Lair, and now for the postage stamp yard at the new one. I don’t give a rodent’s rectum about ‘green’, my motivation is electric stuff has less maintenance headaches than internal combustion.

However, with the jungle I cut this week, anything wimpy will not do. I nearly had to nuke it from orbit just to be sure I got the job done.

FWIW, I have declared this to be lawn and garden weekend. Purchases of vegetable seed and herbicide are in the plan books. Death to weeds!

Up and caffeinating. Purtification shall commence soon, and then it’s off to the eye clinic. Crossed fingers are appreciated that all goes smoothly with the cataract surgery.

I’ll check in later.

dressed, fed, medicated, caffeinated. Now what?

Wearing some clothes. Gnat had another tantrum last night, Mr. Lissar was out very late working on a book with Sensei, baby awake multiple times in the night. Mr. Lissar didn’t get to bed until 2:00 and had to get up at 5:30. I hope he makes it through the day. He’s still feeling sick.

Tea.

G’morning all! I am at work today, feeling some better–at least I was able to sleep last night. Yay on Taters making the good job list (and not FCM’s list!) Thinking good thoughts for Nava and for Rebo’s Dad - my other eye’s cataract surgery is scheduled for May 16, btw. First one went like a breeze! Good thoughts and healing thoughts going out to the Lissar family too - and include those who need some extra zzzzs!

And tomorrow is finally FIRDAY - woo hoo! That’s all I got. I’m blurfy and need some more caffeine, I think. Oh yeah, congrats on making it to work okay today on the bike, Bobbbbio! It’s good exercise. Hope they have showers at work, though. ducks and runs

It’s a corded Black & Decker, fed by a 12-gage extension cord, so there shouldn’t be too much power loss.

Low/no maintenance was my initial idea, but in the height of grass-growing season, I’d have to stop pretty much at the end of each row to tip the mower over and scoop out the clippings that were sticking to the underside of the deck and threatening to stall the blade.

Vibes and prayers headed out to Rebo and Dad!

LiLi here’s hopin’ it all settles down soon.

Congrats on not endin’ up as road pizza BBBobbio! :stuck_out_tongue:

I have to assume a battery beast will have even less guts than corded. Therefore I will stick with gasoline.

ETA: On second read, maybe your mower needs a 12 ga. of a different sort…

Just sent Dex a PM requesting my name change.

Kind of a busy day today. Doc appt. at Noon, meeting at 1, then a wrap up meeting of the committee that ran our Fancy-Dress Ball the other week. By wrap up meeting, I mean pizza and beer gathering.

Then later meeting a friend or three to watch some hockey.

Hey, I said busy, not difficult.

Those of us whose family crest is a wolf demand an apology. Wolves got better manners!

Just realized that all those posts where we talk about MBG will now be hopelessly dated.
General good vibes sent to the Lissars, who need them mightily, and health vibes sent to the Rebos.

I hereby amend my statement to read “raised by poo flingin’ monkeys”. If somebody’s family crest includes poo flingin’ monkeys, well, I’m sure it would be someone who does not use coasters.

Oops, thought I explained that. CSA, in this case, is Community Supported Agriculture.

I’m getting pears, bananas, beets, broccoli, kiwi, mushrooms, parsnips, red bell peppers, yukon gold, red and sweet potatoes, spring mix lettuce, acorn squash, escarole, ginger and tomatoes.

Nummy soundin’ coyote! I’d secede for that!

Pot roast with little carrots and N.O.T. plus lima beans and cornbread for dindin. Can’t wait! Da bear is starvin’!

I survived the ride home, too.
