Good morning!! I’ve been busy after being a slug. **FCD **is heading back to PA in about half an hour so we took advantage of it and slept in - almost till 9!!! :eek: It was cool and wonderful - great way to start a day. After I showered, I decided to do laundry, but that meant I had to mow the back yard early so I could hang clothes out. It took maybe half an hour, and now I’ve got jeans on the line and a second load of miscellaneous colored clothes in the wash. I also harvested a handful of strawberries.
I’m also waiting for the chimney cleaners to show up, plus I need to run to the strawberry lady’s stand for 8 quarts. I’ll hull them all this afternoon so they’ll be ready for tomorrow’s jam-a-thon! 
And somewhere along the line, I need to mow the front ditch. I hate that chore, but it’s gotta be done.
For now, I’m caffeinating and waiting for my laundry to be done. The house is wide open and a lovely breeze is freshening the place. I’ve got 3 afghans and 3 hats all washed and bagged and ready to go to Mom’s tomorrow. I also need to toss the small cooler in the car - she bought 4 Polish sausages for me and they’ll be frozen and ready to go! Yay!!
All in all, a good day. **gt **- I think it’s a sign your bro’s knee will be fine and dandy! Happy Thursday!!!

I’ve been a slug as well. I’m about to take Dad to get a root canal. It definitely won’t be as bad as what he has to go through, but sitting around a dentist’s office for a couple of hours isn’t a grand ol’ time, lemme tell ya.
Good news on the grandbaby front! DIL says the doc says that after her appointment next Wednesday, they’re going to schedule an induction. I could be a grandma next week! Or even sooner, if it happens naturally. Poor thing is absolutely miserable…
I told my acquaintance who suggested moving to a place where we’d be tolerated that we’re not planning on moving.
No response yet from them.

Okay - I know we needed the rain but enough is enough.
Well, that was fun. The chimney cleaner declared our chimney as unsafe. To make everything all better will run about $3600. We will be shopping around and deciding how to handle this.

Good Afternoon Y’all! So far it’s been an interestin’ irk day. I went to the health fair thingy and had a pretty good N.O.L. We have a participant who has filed a worker’s comp case so I got to talk to a w.c. lawyer as well. She seemed pleased with the info given on the case. She will be taking a deposition from the participant this afternoon and very likely at some point will take one from me. Rah. This was all from before my time but I’ll do what I can.
So, how’s everybody else this loverly afternoon/evenin’/mornin’ whatever it may be wherever you are?

Have I mentioned that renting does have advantages? 
**BBBobbio **- I’m now living in fear of the septic system… Are you sure about renting? There’s another house in my neighborhood for sale - it’s got 5 bedrooms! You could take in boarders!!! 
But the grass is mowed, including the ditch from hell. That’s the only thing I miss about my ex-SIL - he used to mow the ditch for me. Oh well.
Also strawberries have been procured (they are gorgeous!!!) and I’ll be hulling the 5 qts for tomorrow and taking 3 more for Mom and my sister to fight over. Daughter is coming for supper tonight - I’m seeing ravioli on the menu.
Have been home for a while. Surgery went very well. Surgeon was pleased. Brother isn’t in enough pain to take pain meds. We’ll see if that lasts.
Have planted a few items and am going to Lowe’s to procure a couple fo things I forgot as well as a couple or fluorescent bulbs.
Electricians have left. I’m pretty sure they left things cleaner than they found them. Kind of expensive, but really good, so worth it.
Off to Lowe’s. Then further planting adventures.

If I remember correctly, one of the bars **gt **gave me was a Ritter Sport and it was quite a treat!
I really miss the days when **FCD **used to go to Italy and Sweden on business. He’d always bring home some killer good chocolates. Now he just brings home a bag of dirty clothes… <sigh>
Mom and I went to Germany, Czech Republic and Austria a couple of years ago. She bought a bunch of chocolates in Berlin and took them home as gifts, the recipients complained she didn’t bring enough and have even asked when she is going again, to get them more chocolate. My step dad was upset she didn’t set up regular delivery to the US when she was there. Ungrateful wenches
We got an “acceptable” on the big deal inspection because one of the housekeepers didn’t throw away a used coffee filter in a vacant room. :smack: There’s going to be a call to prayer in the housekeeping department tomorrow.
Still haven’t found a place yet. Haven’t heard back from any of the emails, either. I wish people would be courteous and reply even if it’s “thanks but no thanks,” but common courtesy died of neglect years ago. I’m going to talk to Detailed AGM about renting the place he’s moving out of. I think I can afford it. I don’t think he realizes how serious I am about it, though.
**FCD **should be getting to Johnstown about now. Daughter has gone home. 5 qts of strawberries have been hulled and bagged, and all the stuff I need for tomorrow is staged. I’ve closed most of the windows - it’s supposed to drop into the upper 40s tonight - too chilly to let in the house.
I need a shower. In fact, I think I’ll go take one now. Don’t look for me tomorrow, unless I hijack Mom’s machine. Be good! MWAH!!
