Since It Ain't Up Yet, Here's The MMP

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 55 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 86 for the day so I guess I won’t freeze.

MOOOOOOM have fun playin’ with strawberries. I’ve been eatin’ on some homemade strawberry/fig preserves the past few days. YUM!!!

Ok, the idea of MOOOOOOM, Rosie, BBBobbio and Gigity all in close proximity in is intriguin’ and for the state of ye olde Merryelande, possibly scary.

Flytrap and Alien do we need to sit y’all in the corner? :dubious:

Spaz if the worst thing I found in a hotel room was a used coffee filter, I’d think I was at home. I am infamous for openin’ the coffeemaker in the mornin’ and findin’ yesterdays filter and grounds still there. The worst bein’ findin’ the filter and grounds in the coffeemaker after havin’ been gone for several days.

Speakin’ of bein’ without adult supervision, OYKW is takin’ off this mornin’ for the wilds of West Alabammy to go see his mom and family for Mother’s Day. That was the reason for my absence yestiddy evenin’ cause well, we had to ummm… say goodbye. I’ll be takin’ off in the mornin’ to see my mom. We’re havin’ a cookout tomorrow which is always fun.

Ok, I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. It is especially excitated over the prospect of strawberry/fig preserves. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence.

Happy Firday Y’all!

I have $16 in my bank account. My student loan payment was $900 this month. I needed that money for moving and rent and all kinds of stuff and now I’m panicking and I have to be at work in forty-five minutes and I can’t call in because that’s less money and I only have half a tank of gas in the car for the next week and I need my money in savings and that just ruins everything I’ve been saving for the last six months and I don’t know what I’m going to do!

PANIC

Who eats lunch?

Curses!
Foiled again!

In Israel, Lunch eats YOU!

Not pulling a double Friday for the 1st time in a month. Feels weird.
That sucks, Spaz.

Good morning, my cuddly little Mumpers!!!

I arrived safely at Mom’s, but she’s not here at the moment, as I expected. Would you believe I almost left home this morning without the berries, which were the point of this visit? But I did remember them, so it’s all good.

rosie, we’ve got Metrocast cable, but I don’t know about satellite, since I don’t use it. The main industry here revolves around the Navy base, with agriculture being second, I’m guessing. Somehow I don’t see you going Amish…

**Spaz **- deep breaths - you can’t think if you’re panicking!

That’s all for now. Just wanted to pop in so you all wouldn’t worry about me. I’m fine.

Don’t think so, Alien is male…

I know, but it was too good a line to pass up.

Mawnin all
spazhang in there
Caffinating at a friend’s house while the house gets leveled
Cloudy and a little wet
That’s all for now
Cheers
Jim

Busy busy busy! I had to drop Sweetie at work again today so I had to get up early again. The good news though is that I got his bank card!!! Mwahahahahaha!!
Seriously though, I can’t go spending willy nilly. I got a mother’s day gift for his mom (an iTunes gift card and a hydrangea), a mother’s day gift for his grandmother (a box of Lindt because she’s technically only allowed sweets on special occasions but she hides them in her room. But, we still get her the special stuff 3x per year), a birthday gift for my neffiepoo (He was 2 weeks old at my high school graduation. Now he’ll be 15 and 1 day for my first college graduation! Little shit.) He gets money. I was going to get him a new skateboard but my sister said he’s gravitating toward rollerblades again. So I was going to get him a tripod but she said he’s more into music now than making movies. So, I figgered I’d let him get whatever the hell he wants. He was so much easier to buy for when he was a cute little chipmunk (seriously, the loss of his chipmunk cheeks in the last year has been devastating for me).

I also went to the grocery store because I needed to make a strawberry vanilla trifle for the tupperware party tonight. I’ve never been to a tupperware party. This one is being held at the dog school and dogs are allowed but I’m not going to bring any of my psychopaths so I decided to bring food instead.

In 1.5 hours, I have to drive back to Sweetie’s work but not to pick him up (yet). I have to meet a girl about a purchase. She’s selling a good condition black Besttop soft top with all the hardware and she only wants $300! That’s too good to pass up. We need to replace half our hardware and the cloth itself has definitely seen better days. She said her Jeep is a 94 and according to our Chilton book, our Jeep can use stuff up to 95 so as long as her top has the hard plastic strip at the windshield attachment, we’re gonna buy it!

Well, hi again, everyone. I’m back in Dallas, and vacay is officially over as I throw myself into the job market.

The first thing I discovered was that I somehow managed to bring the wrong thumb drive, which means all my necessary documents are still back in San Diego. I was able to pull an older tech resume out of my sent box and update it for the techie jobs, but all my contacts, job history, references, et cetera are, again, not here. The request is in to my mom to find the correct thumb drive and send it to me pronto.

I am no longer on the couch, as my brother very thoughtfully cleared out the second bedroom, bought a new bed for himself, and moved the old bed into what is now my room. It’s lovely to have space and privacy again.

There are, however, some complications. First, beloved brother prefers to live in a cave. All the blinds are drawn at all times, and the AC is set on 60 degrees (no, seriously. I checked.). So, in my room, the blinds are pulled up, sunlight is allowed in, and we’ve worked out a deal where I get to turn off the AC when he leaves, and he gets to turn it back on when he returns. If he’d let me know when he’s heading home, I’d even turn it on for him.

Second, brother does not clean. Oh, he washes his dishes and tidies the living area, but he doesn’t clean. The bathroom off my bedroom clearly has not been used in years (I think since the passing F1 tornado about four years ago removed the skylight over his main bathroom and he had to use the other until it was fixed). There were whiskers in the sink, a ring around the tub, and the toilet was, well, frightening. I’m in the process of dismantling the grime.

Except.

I had kind of noticed that the grout around the shower tiles was looking kind of puny, but I didn’t think much of it. Until this morning, when I went directly downstairs after showering, went into the garage, and got rained on.

Bugger.

I checked. My bathroom was directly overhead. I rechecked the shower. In the four showers I’ve taken there, the tile is now starting to pull away from the wall, and there are very clearly areas where the water can get through. I hadn’t noticed it because, after cleaning the tub, it was so slippery, I had to focus my attention on not slipping and dying.

Fuck.

So, I get to tell my brother that he’s probably in for a multi-thousand dollar repair bill that, while not exactly my fault, wouldn’t have happened if I were still in CA.

Spite.

Spaz, hang in there.

Well, I posted twice to my website (link’s in the sig). Lots of cool stuff. I’m going to Ikea after work today. I’m not terribly excited about that, honestly. Then over to my parents’ place to do laundry, paint the inside of my desk drawers that were covered with ink and crayon and gunk, and spray paint my file cabinet and metal drawers. And pick up mail.

{{{Spaz}}} hang in there. I’ve been there too. I’m told that someday we look back on times like you’re goin’ through and smile. Personally I look back and say, “dang! glad that’s over!”

Since I am sans adult supervision tonight I think I shall stop by Maryland Fried Chikin and get me a fried chikin dinner. This shall happen shortly as I am about to be out the door of irk for the weekend.

Laterz!

I killded the MMP!

I stopped and got my chikin and came home and ate it. YUM! Then I saw a recipe for crepes stuffed with Nutella and bananas and feared for a couple of minutes that I would lose my chikin. Kids were actually bein’ advised they could make this for Mother’s Day. Burnt toast is one thing but forcin’ your mother to eat a big glob of Nutella is just wrong.

One of these days, swampy, you’re going to have to face all those murder charges. The MMP has friends in high places . . . or is that high friends in places.

RELIEF

I called CFI and had them issue a refund and grant me a deferment for May. I thought I already had the deferment–that’s what they said when I called last month when they tried to pull this. Automatic payments have been firmly stopped and I shan’t be using them for any bill agayne.

Yay Spaz!

Rosie the MMP has high friends in low places.

That’s good news,** Spaz. **I’m glad you were able to get that squared away.

It’s finally Friday. This has been one heck of a long week for me. The weekend is once again filled too full of weekend. We’re spending all of tomorrow and into the night at our friends’ house to play badminton and horseshoes. Grilling and socialization will also be happening.

Sunday, we’re having the Moms over for a BBQ. I’ll have to dash to the store and pick up stuff to grill, but I’m planning on keeping it simple; burgers, sausages, pasta salad. Hey, I’m a mother too, and I deserve a little ease in the food preparation.

Besides, and I can’t believe I’m saying this, I’m sick of steak. We had it last weekend, the weekend before, and we’re having it again next weekend. I’d like a break from steak. Sadly, I’m sick of chicken too. We eat it a lot. Last night, I got break from it, and prepared some panko breaded pork chops. They were yummy. My husband isn’t a huge fan of pork, but I happen to love it. Consequently, I don’t get to eat pork very often.

I’ve got to figure out what I’m making for dinner tonight. I have some brats or something in the freezer. I think I’ll simmer them in beer for a bit, and then throw them on the grill.

Good evening! Two batches of strawberry preserves are done and divided - half for me, half for Mom.

My poor sweetie still isn’t home, but he should get there shortly. And next week, I may be driving to Rochester with him - 8 freekin’ hours on the road!! I’ll get the details from him tomorrow when I get home.

Yay for the fix, Spaz!

**Jim - please explain this: "Caffinating at a friend’s house while the house gets leveled " Is it a mobile home that needs to be set evenly on blocks or an old place that needs to be bulldozed, or what??

Off to join my maternal unit in front of the TV. Have a good evening, one and all!!

Such a long friggen day. We ended up not meeting up with the Jeep top girl because of traffic jams and silly boyfriends (hers took the frame out of her car for some unknown reason and she didn’t realize it).

The Tupperware party was so much fun! My vet was there with her dobie and he’s a beautiful dog. There was another local trainer with her new rescue, who fell madly in love with my trainer’s assistant’s new Leonberger puppy even though she’s about 35 pounds bigger than him (and younger than him).

I only bought two things but I decided to host a party of my own and…I’m gonna become a consultant. I’m not looking to make a career out of it but I figure it’s the most flexible way to make some extra money to help out with school books and stuff. I’m really good with public speaking so it shouldn’t be too hard.

Other than that, life is normal. I’m tired and I want to go to sleep, so I think I shall.

Rosie’s sig to all and to all a good night!
