Hey sunfish, why haven’t we seen you at any of the New York doper gatherings since the Friday night of the MegaDopefest. There are plenty of single Doper guys of various varieties of geekyness. (By the way, that night was unlike most of the smaller gatherings we have, which are smaller and quieter.)
And Draelin, if you’re in Northern NJ, we should see you, too.
As for me, when asked to present my geek credentials, I pull out my essentially-unused systems engineering degree. Somehow law just doesn’t have the geek mojo that engineering or even geology does. But if the right geek-girl is out there, I’m sure I can fake it.

As for me, I’m afraid my geek cred is pitiful comparitively speaking. I am a big honking theatre dork. Does that count? I’m SWF 32 (and proud to say I still get carded…), about 5’5, have long brown hair and blue eyes. Interested in theatre as previously mentioned–also like Buffy and Angel. I spend spare time reading–like many, many different genres. I think that should at least put me squarely into nerd-dom.

Sure, like that’ll work. Since I’m neither slender nor Asian, I didn’t think I had a shot. But I am in fact somewhere in the right part of the world and play Natural Selection; the odds may be tipping back in my favor!

I am interested in all guys. I just wanted to let the Asian guys know that I am into them too, because I recently read an article in the LA Times about how Asian men aren’t portrayed as sex objects by the American media and aren’t as comfortable approaching white girls because of that. (And there was a thread in here a while back where similar feelings were voiced)
But my taste in men is strange and I find Gil Grissom from CSI incredibly sexy :eek: Other guys I like: Mulder from X-Files, Indiana Jones :o, and Gackt.
I was raised a Star Wars and Star Trek geek by geek parents. My siblings and I can quote almost every line from all three Star Wars movies along with Monty Python and the Holy Grail and several anime. I love museums and my favorite channel is tied between Discovery and History.
I enjoy yaoi and collect doujinshi, manga, and read fanfictions about it. I used to be really into anime, but there haven’t been many series that have caught my attention lately.
I become obsessed with various subjects and read everything I can about that subject. I spend far too much money on books. But nothing makes me happier than learning about new things.
I love spending the day wandering around outdoors and I like to travel. Girls and guys, if you are interested in a travel partner, feel free to contact me too. I am poor though, so until I get more money, I am limited in the places I can go. I also love exploring new cultures and new people. I am terrible with languages (have enough problems with english) I’d love to speak as many as I could.
