Howdy Y’all! Irk day two survived. YAY! OYKW called me as I was just about to my orifice and suggested we dine at the local country cookin’ [del]hog trough[/del] buffet. That was fine by me so we met there for an early dindin. The fried chikin was especially good. Now we are at da cave. He’s stretched out on the bed and moanin’, “why did I eat all that!”. I turned the a/c on when we got here cause it was hawt but now da cave is coolin’ off. All is well.
mmmm - I had tuna steak, rare. Yum! **FCD **had a medium order of ribs and brought half of them home.
And the poke chops I was thawing are now in the fridge wallowing in teriyaki marinade for tomorrow. I want cake. dammit.
Thanks, all.
Went to the computer repair thingy and brought a backup drive so they can at least back up the files. Yay, my as-yet-unpublished arrangement of a famous Canadian song has been saved… I hope. I just hope the computer experts can save my expensive software, or else I can re-install it.
The computer itself will be in the shop a while longer. Many problems with it. :’(
I miss my fancy music software. I need it for work. Maybe I can figure out some way to work around it to continue composing and arranging music.
I want cake too. My friends are having a birthday party this Saturday, but if my sore throat develops into a full-blown cold, I may have to skip the party, as there will be many singers at the party, and it’s important not to get them sick.
I had cake at the [del]hog trough[/del] buffet. Cake and ice cream. YUM!
I always thought pit BBQ was where they were cooked, not where they were thawed. Wow! Thanks! Ignorance fought & all that.
I’m home. Now what to make for dinner?
Pictures! I need pictures!
(There is this vintage 1971 Yamaha I’m looking at. http://www.southhillscycle.com/images/forsale/yamrtif.jpg of course I need a third bike like I need a third something else but its all original!)
We did a home salad bar for dinner; yum.
When I was a kid, I guy as riding with had a Yamaha 90. I had a Honda 50, losr him at a stop light, came to an intersection, took off my helmet and smelled the way his two stroke went.
Is Marie aware that you have no bread? :dubious:
That’s my one rub. Back in the carefree days of youth I had several different 2 strokes at different times. Some were for racing, some more for the street. They were all horribly easy to work on and that was good because you were constantly working on them. They broke more often than the AMF shovel-heads did. And on the street you had to keep revving it and revving it with that wring-dingadinga-wring-dingadinga over and over and over. And the smoke and the smell and becoming an expert at pulling-cleaning-regapping-reinstalling plugs on the side of the road.
But still — a DT1 that clean and original? God its a temptation.
Now the Aramachi <sic?> so-called Harley the same place has -----

not so much so. I owned one of those back in the day same year and all. It came with two plugs installed for the one cylinder. It needed 27 of the damn things drilled into the head. I swear I saw plugs foul just at the sight of one of those things.
I don’t know; for some reason I’m just feeling a vintage bike somewhere in my soul. Just one small enough that in a pinch I can sling it across the luggage rack on the Road Kow when I have to.
I meant to bring in a book today, but I forgot. Guess I’ll just have to find stuff on Teh Intrarwebz to keep me amused, assuming no one has any work for me.
I shoulda been done by now. Jerkwad boss…
Happy Wednesday. blech.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’ YAWN ‘Tis 68 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 84 and mostly sunny for the day. We’re startin’ to have a cool down.
Today should be innerestin’. As of right now, there is no power at the orifice. I got an alert that there is a massive power outage in the southside of Albeeeeny and that there some downed power lines due to a blown circuit. I shall email TPTB and go from there I reckon.
OK that’s all I got for now. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence.
Happy Hump Day Y’all!
kopek’s people delivered the adapters, so now I can connect my company-provided laptop to my company-provided-but-plug-incompatible monitor.
This has led to discovering that both the local and remote sound-outs move autoantimagically to trying to use the monitor, which is totally what I do not want as this happens to be a shared office. Telling both of them to use the headset than you much you stupid computer doesn’t work unless I unplug the monitor :smack: Yep: if I want to listen to music or to a training session, or use Lync’s sound rather than the phone for remote meetings, I need to unplug the monitor.
Who makes that kind of decisions?
I’m hoping to be in the same position soon. The agency is looking to hire a lot of people very quickly. As in 20 people with a start date six weeks from now. This includes FBI background checks and fingerprinting because it’s a federal program. Fortunately, I won’t have a problem with either of those.
Happy Hump Day!
Up early, couldn’t sleep. Irk offered a bonus if I log in early so I’m logged in.
It’s a chilly 44 degrees, but supposed to get up to 68. Not bad since we have to go out to get groceries today. I hope it doesn’t rain.
Not much on the agenda today. Besides getting groceries, just irk and house cleaning. Always house cleaning, the job that never ends.
I am in a perpetual state of blurf
Up, caffeinated, off to work.
Up and at work…to find out I’m acting Branch chief again (I guess I can’t blame my boss, we’ve lost two of our five senior folks so he’s getting value out of me before I retire). Sitting on the phone with the retirement center waiting for my ‘official’ consulation, the nice lady on the phone message has told me (for the third time) that there may be a 10 minute wait (been 25 and counting).
Blurfy hump day, indeed.
I kinda, sorta just did a little something… I updated the drawing tree and the data list by adding the part I drew up yesterday. So far, it’s the only thing I’ve found that needs to be done. At least it won’t be a *totally *non-productive day…
Ruble, you drive East, I’ll drive West for a mini-Mumperfest. Between our wonderful influences she won’t have any doubt about that background check…she’ll be sure to fail!
Seriously, good luck, Robyn.
Had to open the window & close the bathroom door because it smelled so bad. No, not that; I sprayed down the walls of the tub/shower with Bubbing Scrubles[sup]TM[/sup].
Yeah, I know it removes soap scum but I think it also removes lung linings.
I did a few administrative things for Jason and he may have a little more for me to do later. but I’m idle again…
When I go home today, we’ll be removing the side gates. Tomorrow, a guy’s coming over to take out a crappy brick wall and grade and seed a section of hill for us, then prep and eventually put down asphalt millings for a couple of additional parking spots. He’ll also bring in some fill dirt for several rutted areas of the back yard. Once he’s done, we’ll get a carport for the truck. Huzzah!
