I understand.
No apology needed!
doggio, were they Irish tacos? (corned beef and cabbage in a potato skin)
Happy St. Pat’s!
We’re having a free throw shoot out today here at irk. I scored three in the one minute allowed.
Green lamé thong?
& a double shot of brain bleach & Jameson for Doggio!
OOOOO! Menu for next year! And congrats on the free throws.
: faints :
Who is cooking Corned Beef and cabbage? I am. I am leaving irk early so I will have enough time to cook and still eat at a reasonable hour. If I leave irk at 3 that puts me home around 4 and the package the corned beef is in says it takes an hour a pound and the one I got is 2.77 pounds. Of course, I will be cooking it on the stovetop as there is not enough time for the crock pot. So I figure we can eat it around 7:30 ish. Here lately it has been later than that; by the time I get home, cook, clean the kitchen it has been 10 pm. So, 7:30 will be early-ish.
I have a small head of cabbage at home, but no corned beef. We’re having poke chops.
Meanwhile, bored bored bored bored bored bored bored… well, you get the idea. My sum total of productivity today amounted to fixing the title block on one drawing and printing a copy of an engineering change notice for a coworker. I’ve already decided I’m leaving early. What are they going to do - fire me???
We would be cooking up a corned beef today, but thanks to a combination of forgetting to get a small cabbage and some potatoes to go with it, and DH forgetting the date and starting up something else (that needs to be started the day before) yesterday, we’ll have the corned beef tomorrow or on the weekend.
Makes little difference to us since we’re both 0.00% Irish.
It wouldn’t look great on a job record or resume.
:dubious:
Howdy Y’all! Yes I am at da cave Spidey and flytrap. MOOOOOOM GMTA! We’re havin’ poke chops and cabbage as well. I have a cabbage casserole in the oven as I post. The poke chops are already cooked as they have been smoked but will need to be heated up which will happen on the grill. Succotash and a loaf of Irish soda bread I bought at the sto’ shall accompany. YUM! We both et enough corned beef last Sattidy to do us a while.

Does it contain cream of mushroom soup?
:dubious:
GMTA?
No corned beef dinner here. That’s breakfast food! We’ll be having leftovers. :o If I’d planned ahead a nice lamb stew sounds good. Alas and alack, pizza it is.
Great Minds Think Alike.
Teriyaki poke chops are in the toaster oven. Cabbage-n-onions cooking on the stove. Instant smashed N.O.T.s (judge ye not!!!) to be made in a bit.
We met a neighbor walking her dog - a year-old German shepherd who was never properly socialized. When we were beside her, she let us skritch her and she licked our arms, but as soon as we started walking back to the house, she started barking like a crazy dog! And when Higgs ran down there, the poor dog freaked - she doesn’t like little dogs, and Higgs is such a brat!
Work is about halfway done on our new parking pads, plus he’s dumped a load of dirt in the back - it’ll get spread tomorrow. Yay for a semi-leveled yard. OK it’s sloped so it’s not exactly leveled, but the ruts, etc, will be filled in and he’s going to seed and straw everything. We may have a real lawn before it’s over!
I made a to-do list for my last day. I’ll stretch it out to last an hour or so, but I can’t see me staying in the office past 9. Then FREEDOM!!!
Dindin has been et and the rain has begun. I just saw a flash of lightnin’ and then heard a thunder rumble. It’s supposed to be a stormy night and a stormy tomorrow. Fine by me. Tomorrow is irk from da cave day and I have no travelin’ to do. YAY!
So glad I telecommute! They’re having electrical gremlins on BART, so to get between here and the city, I’d have to endure a “bus bridge” around the affected section of track that’s apparently frying the trains’ electrical systems.
My inner conspiracy theorist is wondering if there’s any connection to BART’s problems and the electrical fires they’ve been having on BART’s sister transit system, the DC Metro.
Watching hockey, and drinking beer. Life is good.
I had pasta for dinner. :p:
For some reason every time I tried to open a new window so I could copy and paste another quote, the damn thing would freeze on me. It’s working better now.
Actually Peace Frogs boxers. But if I didn’t move around so much at work ----------
It would look better than her going all stabby from boredom hacking multiple coworkers to pieces.
Unless she has plans of applying for a job in government.
Or in New Jersey.
I helped the cafe owner plant rhubarb in the garden on the west side of our library, where the cafe is located. I got the sets from my cousin in Nebraska. Each year we pick up a big load of rhubarb from her and I make it into pies for the cafe. We want to try growing our own. If we can grow it ourselves, maybe put some in each year for a few years, then we won’t have to depend on someone else. Last year’s herbs are coming back already, we only need to plant dill and basil, plus a few veggies. Parsley, sage, rosemary, thyme(yea, yea, I know) and oregano are already coming in, along with comfrey and lavendar.
I need to do yard work this weekend, raking and picking up sticks fallen into the yard from the black walnut tree.
I had strawberry pie with rhubarb from Mrs. Plant’s (v.3.0) bakery, ans was pleasantly surprised.
Fairychat is very good at picking up sticks, and, as I understand, unemployed for a while.
Just saying.
