Oops, looks like another ‘wall o’ text’. TLDR version: sometimes, scum hide in plain sight and you can simply point to their slacking to make your case. But not this time.
Vote Mosier
The case against **Mahaloth ** is straight forward. He’s hardly contributed, and the die roll to decide between me and Mosier was lazy. But that’s really what it looks like - someone who’s just being lazy, who’s not really involved in the game. But then again, in the other game I’ve played with him he was just like that, and turned out town. Also, there’s little that we can point to that has actually undermined the town effort.
Mosier’s case, mostly made in post #81, is off for a number of reasons. Here it is.
The day’s almost over. Just in case I die tonight, I want some arguments out there.
Svejk, I think Ender didn’t vote for you because you’re scummy. He voted for you because Mahaloth is the scum. If either you or I died today, we lose. I think he figured neither you or I had the same suspicion as he did.
I accused you to get the discussion rolling, not necessarily because I had a big lean on you. I had no idea who the scum was until Mahaloth “flipped a coin.” Why’d he flip a coin, so early in the day? I think it’s because he doesn’t really care which of us dies.
We should spend the rest of the day watching for Mahaloth to change his vote, and then change our vote accordingly so you don’t get lynched.
Go town!
Firstly, if by that point you’re sure that **Mahaloth **is scum, and you think that Enderw24 agrees with you, then why did you wait until Enderw24 voted to come out with this story? You posted twice after Mahaloth’s vote but before Enderw24’s. Why not unvote me earlier and vote Mahaloth? You could have then explained that you had tried to stir up a discussion by going after me but that you were now more sure about **Mahaloth’**s scumminess. You could at that point have tried to convince me and Enderw24 - and in case that would have failed, you might then still have been able to force a tie to avoid a miss-lynch.
Secondly, there’s your discussion of Ender’s vote. When you do bring out your arguments against Mahaloth, you suggest Enderw24 shares your views and you use his vote for me as evidence, but it’s not clear why Enderw24 would not have told us that himself. Conveniently enough, we never hear back from **Enderw24 **and now he’s dead. Knowing that you were going to kill him, did you hide behind him for a few hours while he was still alive? Did you take the risk that he might come out and contest your interpretation, in hopes that in the morning when he’d be dead by your hand, your case against Mahaloth would seem supported by a known townie?
Lastly, your post reads a lot like you’re trying to cuddle up to me and gain me for your cause by being nice, involving me, protecting me: “We should spend the rest of the day watching for Mahaloth to change his vote, and then change *our *vote accordingly so *you *don’t get lynched”. To me, it reads more like scum deciding to switch tack than it reads like town being provocative to get things going or like town genuinely changing his mind.
In addition, **Mosier **still has not actually replied to my points from YesterDay, which I still find pretty damning. I know - you don’t want to be too defensive, you want to be hunting scum lest you look like scum - but that does not mean you can totally ignore a bunch of points made against you.
**I’ll leave it up to the discretion of the **fubbleskag to handle this in any way he sees fit, but if EoD is really 48 hours after it began, that would put it at 1:37 AM for me, what with me being in Europe and all. Although I’m excited about the game, I’m not staying up that late on a week night!
