Stocking up on MMPs

Morning all. Went back to bed until 8am, so I’m feeling slightly more human now. 80F already and heading to 90F. Most of today is beginning to pull the paperwork together for making up 14 perfectly even (HA!) 6-year old soccer teams. Just plan to organize the data today, I’ll get the teams built in the next several days.

FCM, enjoy the zoo tomorrow. As for FCD, leopards, spots…

Sari, who or what slammed into you? Inquiring minds want to know…
Oh,

So they had a massive vowel movement?

swampy, have fun Vergering. And snark is not a bad thing, as long as you think it and not say it…

Bumba, hope you’re feeling better today.

OK, need to break fast and be about the day. All y’all have a great Sunday.

So far, the IRS notice says “proposed corrections,” so we’re not quite to where they actually say I owe taxes (which I don’t see how I could), which should mean they wouldn’t be grabbing my savings quite yet. Again, I’ll ask the accountant on Tuesday. The bank where my accounts are is only a few blocks from my apartment, the second-nearest bank is a mile away–a big difference when you have to walk everywhere and need cash.

I wish I could find out what documents the IRS THINKS it has that it THINKS show I earned $25k more than I actually did, but it seems to have become an impenetrable fortress. I’m hoping the CPA can help me. Someone told me it’s so expensive to fight the IRS that I’d be better off just paying the amount I don’t owe. I’m pretty sure the knots in my stomach are permanent. I can’t handle the possibility someone stole my soc. security #.

MetalMouse, I hope the grumps have disappeared and that you’re feeling much happier now.

FCM, I don’t see how your daughter does it. I mean, when you have 30 kids in a class, having only a handful sounds ideal, but then there’s a whole bunch of projects you couldn’t do because they require several groups. It’s harder than it seems. Anyway, kudos to her, and have fun at the zoo!

And throw virtual on top of that, and you’ve got a nightmare!! But with luck, this will be her last year of teaching. She needs to get a job that pays well and offers bennies. FCD is going to do his best to get her hired where he’s working. It’s a great company and if she could get on there, she’d be set for life!

We went to Olive Garden for soup and salad. FCD is now having a nap and I’m going to tread the mill and watch more of the Monty Python documentary.

Off to do a day of granddaughter Hattie wrangling. With a little luck I’ll get in a baby grandson cuddle.

Muggy here so I’m hoping that outdoor backyard play won’t be involved. I’ll try distracting her with messy art projects and kid’s YouTube wildlife videos.

Happy Sunday afternoon, all! It’s sunny and warm (87) here, but the humidity is tolerable and there’s a light breeze. I’m appreciating it while I can, because we’re supposed to have rain/storms/temps in the 90s for the rest of the week… {sigh}

I was supposed to maybe sit in on a jazz gig in DC tonight, but yesterday I started thinking twice about going in light of my newly infected (and sore) nail-less toe. Today the antibiotics are bothering my tummy, so the decision to stay home has been made. Ah, well.

The doggy’s tummy seems to be better today: she had practically no food yesterday, but today she’s had her normal breakfast, her daily Milk Bone brushing chew, her daily Dasuqin chews, and two small Milk Bone cookies. So far so good… :crossed_fingers:

Exactly!

When I went to Amazon this morning I was dismayed to find that the same mattress protector I’ve ordered several times over the years is currently out of stock (just in the queen size). So I ordered a different brand, also quilted and waterproof but made of bamboo. It was only $6 more than a highly rated non-bamboo mattress protector and was even more highly rated, so I figured what the hell. I hope it’ll be a long time before I need to try it, but when the time comes I’ll be curious.

But…why?? :anguished:

I’m glad you were able to go back to sleep for a while longer!

I’m assuming that was before the days of laptops and the ability to telework…?

I miss Olive Garden. They never jumped on the “delivery” bandwagon, at least around here: if you don’t want to/can’t eat inside, your only option is a to-go order. They’ll bring it out to your car, but with so many other Italian places that will deliver* it always feels like too much effort to get in the car and go there. I keep hoping they’ll start delivering (or partner with DoorDash or GrubHub or something), but if they haven’t done it by now it’s not likely. Maybe it’s just as well, because I’d probably order from them way more often than I order from the places that deliver…and it would not be just soup and salad.

*I’m lucky enough to live in area with a lot of delivery options.

Yikes, it’s after 2:30 already: time to soak my toe, then relocate to the living room. And get some lunch. I’ve been alternating between eating better and figuring that I may as well have x while I still can…between my toe and not feeling great, eating better doesn’t stand a chance this afternoon!

The other day, I harvested a couple of green peppers, and I just finished sorta stuffing them. They were kinda long and narrow, so I just split them al piled the stuffing on top. They’re in the oven now - no reason it shouldn’t work right?

In the morning, I need to pack lunch for the zoo trek. I may not have time to check in - depends on how early FCD gets up and gone. So you may not see me till late. Or not. We’ll have to see…

DH and I are currently watching “Chernobyl”. Sloth day, food is for the most part by grazing (I did bake up a pan of frozen rolls).

I want you to know, I found this HILARIOUS. Thanks for the joke.

Howdy Y’all! I Verged with no major consequences and the buildin’ was standin’ when I left so let’s call it a win. Also no drips today. I shall keep a check this week and hope no more drips appear. Stoopid a/c. We had a McN.O.L. and then I achieved nappage cause I felt tahrd. OYKW had a sammich for sup and I et some pimento cheese on crackers. The biiiiiiiiiiiig trash can has been hauled all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow. All is well.

Evening all. Went out to Cracker Barrel for dinner, not too busy but like a lot of places low on staff, so it took a little while. Also, they brought my salad out with the main course, and I prefer to eat my salad first, but such is life. Filled the gas tank on my way home, so it was an expensive outing.

Working on e-mails to my parents and coaches of the 7U group. We’ll have a “Jamboree” next Saturday morning to get the kids started and hopefully I’ll have teams ready by then.

OK, good night to all and I’ll catch you on the next MMP.

I cleaned. I slothed on the couch with Alex Catt for International Cat Day. I drank a gin&tonic to ward off the malaria. Not a bad day off.
