Thanks, Obama!
This guy has got to be a major puppet. It doesn’t seem like he’s really for this bill as he should be. He doesn’t mention things like this is what god wants or it’s to help Christianity. Instead, he just dodges the question all the time, like he doesn’t really have an answer. Yet, when asked about equal rights for LGBT in IN, he clearly says it’s not on his agenda. Anyone have a list of this douchebag’s major contributors?
Why it’s almost like he knows that he has to be for civil rights if he want to be president, but against them if he wants to be nominated.
I think we’re in for a fun couple of months.
Pretty sure that it starts and ends with Charles G. Koch and David H. Koch.
Koch Blockers Unite!
He says it’s because of Obamacare; same thing.
I begin to really wonder what’s going through Mike Pence’s mind.
Ever since this whole law began to blow up in his face, he has been howling about “this is not the intent of the law.” He wants to be judged on his INTENTIONS, you know, the good ones of which serve as paving stones on a certain road?
I could argue that it wasn’t my INTENT to run over your dog just because I was drag racing in front of your house. This will no doubt be great consolation to your children as they weepingly scrape Rover out of the undercarriage of my car.
Furthermore, the fact that I’m ripping up the road in front of your house might cause you to question my intentions in the first place. Even if those intentions are good, you might question my ACTIONS in doing such a lamebrained thing.
But if I want to really put the cherry on top of the cake, I can get IRRITATED with you for daring to question my intentions and make all these irresponsible noises and accusations, just because I wanna drag race in front of your house! I happen to LOVE dogs, young man, as any Hoosier SHOULD, and I resent your poisonous implications!
The overall impression I am getting is not one of a person who thinks of himself as a servant of the voters, charged with making Indiana a better place. The impression I am getting is of a man who is IN CHARGE, dammit, and whose first impulse upon getting busted is to DOUBLE DOWN, regardless of the wisdom of signing a law that any first year legal student (and George Takei, for that matter) can plainly see is a dandy tool for legalized discrimination, regardless of what was INTENDED.
This guy officially scares me now. All you Hoosiers? Unelect him. Please?
He’s a pol who wants to be liked, or at least simply not hated, by most of his electorate, and possibly a national one too. He knows he needs to straddle some rails to do that. But he just isn’t very good at it.
I have to think he thought nobody would notice if he signed the bill quietly. He can’t honestly answer any simple questions of the bill because honest answers will REALLY piss off his constituency, except of course for the homophobes. All he can do is scream about INTENT rather than discuss the actual effect.
A light breeze?
It wasn’t a very quiet signing with all the nuns, priests, a token Rabbi and a token Imam all smiling. I wonder why no same-sex couples were there for the photo shoot. :dubious:
It wasn’t all that quiet, he had a slew of anti-LGBT activists hanging around him at the signing.
I do wonder what he thinks can be accomplished by “clarifying the law” so that people won’t think that it is meant to discriminate. What was the purpose of the law in the first place, if it wasn’t meant to discriminate?
I love that the Church of Cannabis is now claiming pot rights in Indiana as a result of the law.
His talents run more toward pissing on the electrified rail.
Did I say anything about fundamentalist Muslims, other than linking to a study showing they are as liable to be crackpots who fall for any conspiracy theory that comes along as any other engineers? IE: Embarrassingly likely to?
One of the senior engineers at my last job was a YEC Muslim. Not sure what particular sect he belonged to, or how common his views were among that sect.
But then, when the noise starts, what does he do? Stonewall and wait for the kerfuffle to die down.
And then when it doesn’t die down, he gets mad at the media for “making things worse.”
This is not a person who really seems like he’s very much in touch with the mainstream of his society. This seems more and more like a guy who doesn’t listen to anyone except his cabinet and his pet lobbyists, and then wonders why everybody’s so upset about this little bill that no one was supposed to notice… and figures it must be the media’s fault.
As opposed to the people who wrote the bill. And then refused to amend or fix it. And then passed it.
Of course they won’t be able to perform drive by shootings until they’re 16.
Wow. Thank you. I only saw the large picture. The close-up is frightening. Now when Pierce says putting gays on the equal rights list is “not in my agenda”, we can tell whose agendas it’s really not on. EMWIGMT.
In case you have forgotten, for the next 24 hours, there will be no stupid Republican ideas. For the whole day. All of it. Not one.
