Stupid Republican idea of the day

I’ll save GOP apologists a click and mention that Cruz and his mentor Abbott are careful in the way they phrase their tripe:

[QUOTE=Egregious oaf who thinks he qualified to be POTUS]

And I think part of the reason is we have seen, for six years, a federal government disrespecting the liberty of the citizens. That produces fear, when you see a government that is attacking our free speech rights, or Second Amendment rights, or religious liberty rights. That produces distrust.

In other words, “No, I’m not an utter moron and haven’t fallen for the batshit lunacy. But I sure as hell do went to pander to the batshit lunatics – where else would I get votes?”

This is really is the new Item #1 on a rather long list about why the GOP is utterly indefensible nowadays.

You can’t help but doubt the intellectual capacity of anyone who still supports that team.

Jeb Bush says he’s a fan of “The Bell Curve” co-author Charles Murray.

You’re about 50 posts late:

I did a thread search.

You have to search for very specific stupid - too many or nebulous results. Or the search function is utterly repulsed by having to crawl through this thread - again - and has rejected the idea through some AI function.

It is not a tragedy if you repost a story by mistake. There are really only several thousand examples of teh stupid, and only a few hundred that feel like a boot to the solar plexus. A lot of this thread is like peanut gallery stuff.

But we will still hound you mercilessly. It is, after all, The Pit.

The Board used to have a very advanced AI for searches, but each time it crawls through this thread, it gets a little less intelligent. Better to repost a Stupid Republican Idea and risk getting teased than to do further harm to the AI, making it more of an AS.

The search function better search for what I tell it to search for or I’m going to make it search through everything lekatt ever posted.

Yes, that’s bad, but it’s just your generic GOP-stupid. Hiring Paul Wolfowitz as a foreign policy adviser is also stupid, but worse, it’s positively evil too.

Least we forget:
Paul Wolfowitz: Godfather of the Iraq war

I recall reading about a discussion held in the Dubya White House about whether to pass out US or Iraqi flags to the cheering Iraqis as the US troops moved into Baghdad. I believe 'ol Wolfie was involved in that.

It’s not Republican, and all the facts aren’t in, but it’s stupid (and it’s Texas) so I’ll drop this here.

An event near Dallas specifically designed to insult Muslims winds up in a shootout.

Damn, Texans are dumb. It’s like they’re saying “The First Amendment protects my right to poke this snake in the nose with my finger.”

Both Ben Carson and Carly Fiorina have joined the Republican primary race.

Well, at least the debates should be entertaining, in a train wreck sort of way.

We have at least two other threads, Even the Stupid is Bigger in Texas and Stupid Religious Idea of the Day, where the Dallas shooting story would fit.

There’s nothing particular whacko about Fiorina … just another corporate lackey of the ruling class (a distaff Mitt Romney, if you will), and one who got her ass kicked by Barbara Boxer.

I’m still holding out for Rick Perry - nobody else can be counted on for an “Oops.”

Au contraire, have you forgotten…demon sheep?

I’ll be (more) concerned if Jeb names Dick Cheney to head his vice-presidential search committee.

Granted, she does hire “creative” media people.

She also thinks that federal workers watch porn all day. Although it might be all American workers. I’ve seen variations on this, so it’s hard to tell what she’s getting at.

Please tell me that somewhere, probably in some half-buried in the sand hangar in rural Saudi, there’s a matching set of rusting containers filled with both kinds of flag, confidently stencilled Cheering iraqis, For the purveyance of.
