Stupid Republican idea of the day

Thanks.

Given that, I don’t see any way he doesn’t try to make that first debate. He would LOVE to be in that debate. Other candidates have to worry about appearing boorish or entitled. We expect it of Trump. He can walk all over everyone and never harm his own reputation in the slightest. I would expect a fiasco.

IF he were to be in the debate, I would expect very high ratings.

Are we about set for the GOP? (listed without snarky bios - feel free to add)

Any thoughts on assigning individual SDMB contributors a candidate and update their ideas and contributions along with past histories in this thread, Asshole of the day blog, politifact, etc…

So it’s 120 days of so-dumb, is it?

Not sure what you mean by “set”. A bunch on your list haven’t declared their candidacy yet. I don’t think any of the current governors have, but I could be wrong.

You are correct, none have.

Actually, the Yahoo article posted earlier indicates he only polls higher than one other clown: George Pataki.

Well, we need to fix that, don’t we?

For your consideration.

Donald Trump Campaign Offered Actors $50 to Cheer for Him at Presidential Announcement

Heck for $50 I’d whoo-hoo and hoot and holler for him. It’s not like it’s going to make any difference.

That Extra Mile Casting call sounded like if Master Thespian wrote it… ACTING!

Humpf. My pride’s worth more than 50 bucks, asshole. Throw in a jelly doughnut and we can talk.

An historical note. HSBC bought Republic National Bank of New York toward the end of 1999. During a good portion of the 1970’s RNB’s gold price had been the one quoted on financial newscasts. That vault is huge, and was built by Edmond Safra (RNB’s major shareholder and founder) to hold not only gold, but banknotes as well. We’re talking $5 million bricks of cash.

It could be the largish storage fees at HSBC as compared with the FRB come with better overall custody services.

You know, this is what fourty years of rampant Marvel retcons have wrought.
He was a skrull all along ! She wasn’t dead, she’s from a race that does suspended animation very well ! It was a clone from another timeline ! They were *really *quadruple agents ! The founding fathers drew extensively from humanists and natural philosophers, the better to build the very theocracies and religious strife they were disgusted with !

Especially since God is a big fan of rainbows in The Bible.

But really, how much do you need in the way of custody services? I guess if you flipping your gold purchases and actually physically receiving and sending the bullion out frequently, there might be some value to a custodian who delivers overnight instead of next week.

But that gold was purchased years ago - how much does it cost to have some guy wander by every so often and say “Yep, still there”?

There’s a 911 call I’d love to hear.

“911, what’s the nature of your emergency?”

“It’s my neighbour! He has relentlessly gay yard lamps!”

“We’ll send the landscaping squad right over to park a rusty Camaro on blocks in their front yard.”

Giovanni Capriglione, MBA’d private equity manager, is the State Rep behind the Texas gold boondoggle. He proposed this in the previous session but it failed–partly because setting up a proper, secure facility would be too expensive.

The new plan involves privatization & outsourcing. There are apparently unused storage facilities all over the state. What could possibly go wrong?
