Stupid Republican idea of the day

Even if it’s a scam, it brought us the phrase “relentlessly gay” and its associated dragon. That balances a lot of scales.

It’s hard to put a price on a meme. Or, maybe not.

No no no. The name should be Becoming Relentlessly Gay.

Or maybe the band name could be Relentlessly Gay, and their first album could be Becoming Relentlessly Gay.

Fox News’ Erick Erickson; Americans can’t comprehend the root causes of the Charleston shooting because they’re too tolerant of Caitlyn Jenner.

It’s almost as if sticking with “They were killed for being Christians” would have been a better idea.

I understand them trying to steer the conversation away from guns. I don’t agree with them doing so, but I understand, from their viewpoint, why they’d want to.

But why are they so intent on denying the obvious explicitly stated (by the killer) racism of the incident? Is there some political reason for it? Are they emotionally invested in denying the existence of racism?

From the article:

…and his career is proof of that.

Racism and idiocy are not mutually exclusive. Au contraire!

I think they’re invested in giving their audience what they want to hear. And their audience is largely of the ilk of “there’s no racism … I know I’m not a racist … why are blacks making such a big deal about this … everything would be better if they just shut up…”

Saying whites want to kill blacks doesn’t inspire fear in anyone who would likely vote for or contribute to the Republican Party.

Saying atheists (or whatever) want to kill Christians, though… that’ll whip up boatloads of fear-votes and fear-bucks.

Yes, Christianity is ultimately just another Middle Eastern cult and all its adherents should go back to the Middle East, because nothing good ever came out of the Middle East.

Except algebra. And I have my doubts about algebra!

Um, hummus is pretty good, too. And gyro and olives are DELICIOUS.

So, algrebra, hummus, gyro and olives. But that’s IT!

They are respnsible for algebra? Hey, FUCK THOSE GUYS!!!

And the roads.

And camels. We wouldn’t have those funny Geico ads.

Rick Perry calls the Charleston shooting an “accident”, and says he thinks the shooter probably did it because he was on drugs.

It helps to remember that snide snarkers like me used to insinuate that GeeDubya was an Aggie. Rick Perry actually is an Aggie.

By way of our friends over at Crooks and Liars

Rick Santorum Thinks Elizabeth Warren Is A Marxist

And this is the end of his campaign…

I suspect he meant to say “incident” and either misspoke or just doesn’t know the correct word. Rather spectacular flub, regardless.
