Stupid Republican idea of the day

I’m going to repeat my usual plea when the Texas-bashing starts: Please remember that there are a lot of us trying to rein in the stupidity here. Over 3.3 million Texans voted for Obama in 2012–more people than live in Iowa, or in 20 other states. We’re still badly outnumbered, but we’re fighting the good fight. Broad-brush bashing, or encouraging liberal-minded people to move out of the state, doesn’t help us as much as you might think.

Would I like to live in a more liberal place? Sure. It would be easier. But if I leave, Texas will be that one tiny little bit redder. One vote farther away from sanity. Does one vote matter that much? Of course not–but it’s not just my vote, it’s the votes of all the people like me. We stay. We vote. We argue. Sometimes we persuade someone–usually someone young. Hopefully, the little victories will add up enough to change things here in my lifetime.

She’s the Jay Leno of political commentary. Bringing up shit that died eight years ago is not only irrelevant, but really just tiresome. The woman personifies ‘banal’. I do like the stop-action photo, though.

Time for those well-regulated militia to show us all what they’re made of!

I know, I know . . . but your RW dumbshit neighbors make it so easy! :o

Nah, just follow and observe and report.

Which might be construed as espionage, come to think of it . . .

I wonder who they are reporting to… each other?

If the track record of the Republic of Texas’s military is any indication, the US military has nothing to worry about.

Best line:

Donald Trump advocates invading Mexico.

LBJ won the 1948 Texas Democratic primary for US Senator by 87 votes. In those days that was tantamount to winning the election. Thus: Landslide Lyndon.

Steve King introduces a resolution in the House to put the House on record as “disapproving” of the gay marriage ruling.

Their website, I suppose . . . and I was going to find the story I linked above, which includes a link to that website, and post the link here . . . but now that link is “The webpage cannot be found” . . . what’s more, I googled on “salon jade helm,” and every salon.com article that search turns up is now “The webpage cannot be found” . . . Military censors at work, or what?!

I can access those pages. Either you or salon.com must have been having some sort of internet connectivity issues.

You know, he could be on to something. We could invade Mexico for lots of reason; to prevent ISIS from expanding, to deter them from pursuing nuclear weapons, and to get them to leave Ukraine. When you consolidate operations under a single management structure like that it really cuts down on overhead.

I think we should forcibly invade and occupy Mexico to keep Greece in the Euro.

Gawd. If he’d just stopped there, it would have been fine. An issue of speech, no more. “We disapprove of the Supreme Court’s decision.” Hey, great! I disagree with several of them myself.

But the goddamn fucker had to go farther, and urge the citizenry to shun gays in the businessplace. He’s urging people to break the law (in those states that have anti-discrimination protection for gays.)

These guys are as evil as anything this country has ever vomited forth. The neo-Nazis were not worse.

Nonono, he’s not encouraging anybody shunning anyone! He’s encouraging the free exercise of religion! Who could possibly object to that?

Fat, middle-age white guys?

PLEASSSSE can we hang them? How about just one as an example for the others? We can half blind the rest. It’s Biblical!

King is a punk, he’s not even running for President!

For the record, when I stumble it’s because of my feet. The Bible was written by the foot lobby! DON’T LET THE PRO-FOOT FACTION BLAME EYES!
