Stupid Republican idea of the day

Income Inequality Explained:
The thing is, income inequality is due to some people working harder
Most of us just didn’t work hard enough at being born trust fund babies. You can’t just choose your parents at random people! You need to put in the time and effort researching their finances, etc.

If that’s the case, he’s got to do a lot more toadying before he can get anywhere near the Koch’s preferred lapdog Scott Walker. That guy’s probably denying global warming in his sleep!

This always confuses me. So shouldn’t she be cheering Obama on, voting for Democrats, telling Congress not to block the deal?

Well Trump’s a doer, he’ll get it done, classier than ever - and right in nearby Atlantic City!

Does the conversation end like [this?](YouTube" frameborder=“0” allowfullscreen></iframe>)

And just wait till you see the new High Priest’s robes!

Alabama state senator Paul Sanford ® has created a GoFundMe campaign to Fund the Alabama State Government.

As I write this, he is at $330.00 of $300,000,000.00 in his fundraising effort, but it’s only been 3 days. Still at this rate, it’ll take him something like 100,000 days to reach his goal…

ETA: Oh yeah, he’s a Republican.

It’s been done.

Got any cite that this was actually started by him and not started in jest?

Yes, he really did: State Sen. Paul Sanford sets up GoFundMe account to solve state’s budget woes

VICE had the story first, but I liked that other headline as a lead for this post.

Time is now reporting it as well.

ETA: To be fair, he says he’s doing it to make a point:

The thing is, it seems like most of the comments are not so much “my taxes are too high already!” as much as “what the fuck did you do with the money you already took from us?” which doesn’t seem to have occurred to Senator Sanford to be something that people would be concerned with.

I already posted this in Elections, but I think it deserves to be here too:

In another thread Lemur866 does a good job of describing Republican mindset:

While the more intelligent right-wingers – Limbaugh, Huckabee, probably Beck and Walker – know it’s bullshit, I think Lemur866 gives the right-wing far too much credit if he thinks most of them know. Remember these are people who let their thinking be driven by amygdala, not frontal cortex. Because they let fear and disgust override cognition, they honestly believe that semantic tripe like “All lives matter” has poked a hole in their opponents’ case.

I’ve seen such cognitive disconnect many times, with conservatives showing manifest sincerity. You can see it in the GD thread, with ITR champion responding to teaching only with non sequiturs.

(I started to comment on Lemur866’s post in the GD thread; then worried that suggesting some Dopers may suffer cognitive disconnect was out of bounds.)

The Donald has doubled down and gone full anti-vaxxer:

Also - COOTIES. Many such cases!

Also on Twitter: Marco Rubio promotes one of the most insane anti-abortion campaigns ever seen:

No, you haven’t misread that.

I believe clicking the link on his website automatically signs your name to the petition, so be aware.

Bah - didn’t notice the date. It’s an old tweet going around, not a new stupid idea.

So the GOP circus clowns are now attacking their fellow co-workers who work the sideshow attractions?

I can’t tell if that is a rant on abortion or evolution.

Either way, he’s agin it.

If signing an Internet petition ever meant anything, I might worry about it.

Well, it means you know a human foetus won’t become a donkey. Or possibly that you accidentally rested your thumb on your trackpad. Is that something you want people to know about you?
