What’s with the rush to make nonsensical Norse mythology puns?
It’s a regular Balder-dash.
It’s something I never Tyr of.
Yggdrasil go and erm… No fuckit I got nothing there , ullr stop making puns.
Speaking of which, I’ve never understood why the white supremacist Norse god worshippers don’t look to Balder for their prayers.
Well, if this is serious thought (and right off the bat I don’t have a fraction of the expertise necessary to meaningfully discuss it), I gathered that despite the occasional use of Norse (and Nazi) symbols, white supremacists were routinely and devoutly Christian.
I’m sure an internet search will find white supremacist pagans, but even then… is Balder well known enough, especially compared to Thor and Loki? Balder hasn’t even been adapted for the Marvel movies, as far as I know.
I don’t mean to threadshit here, but you might want to look up Asatru.
In a 500+ page thread? It’s like being concerned about pissing in the ocean. Anyway, a Republican will say something stupid shortly and give the thread more material in furtherance of its core topic.
You only get away with it because today is Thor’sday.

Probably afraid they’ll have to shave their heads to show their devotion.

Trump :
Maybe the special identification cards should be yellow crescents that they must wear pinned to their clothes.
I can’t decide whether the level of support from Republicans he’s garnered and maintained is sad or horrifying. I think ‘sorrifying’ is apropos.
This particular outburst has sent a number of Jewish organizations, for whom the historical precendent was painfully obvious, running the other way.
But Trump is still going strong with the “asshole” demographic.

Video of Trump wanting registration of Muslims: Donald Trump's Plan for a Muslim Database Draws Comparison to Nazi Germany
Reporter: “Should there be a database system that tracks the Muslims who are in this country?”
Trump: “There should be a lot of systems beyond databases – I mean we should have a lot of systems and today you can do it.”
Trump: [talks about illegal immigration and his wall]
Reporter: “With Muslims specifically, how do you actually get them registered into a database?”
Trump: “It would be just good management. What you have to do is good management procedures, and we can do that.”
Reporter: “Do you go to mosques and sign these people up into the systems?”
Trump: “Different places. You sign them up at different – but its all about management.
. . .
Trump: . . . People can come to the country, but they have to come in legally.
. . .
Reporter: “Mr. Trump, why would Muslim databases not be the same thing as requiring Jews to register in Nazi Germany?
Trump: [Silence.]
Reporter: “What would be the difference?”
Trump: [Silence.]
Reporter: “Is there a difference between the two?
Trump: [pointing finger in reporter’s face] “Who, who are you with?”
Reporter: “I’m with NBC NEWS. Is there a difference between requiring Muslims to register and Jews in Nazi Germany?”
Trump: “You tell me. You tell me. Why don’t you tell me?”
Trump: [moving on in line] “You tell me.”
Reporter: [after Trump has moved on down the line] “Do you, do you believe there is? Should Muslims, I mean, be fearful? Will there be consequences if they do not register?”
Trump had the opportunity to state that no, Muslims would not be required to register, but he chose not to. He had the opportunity to state that he wanted only illegal immigrants to be registered, and not others, but he chose not to. That is truly chilling, and yes, the comparison to the rise of hatred in Nazi Germany is apt. When he focused on management, my first though was railroad supply chain services.
Jormungand! Sorry, I got nothing but I wanted to play too…

It’s going to be interesting to see what happens next.

Someone asked Trump a question that required introspection and a thoughtful answer? Republicans call those “Gotcha” questions.

Trump has apparently been watching the new documentary, “The Man in the High Castle,” on Amazon.
I thought his Christan faith didn’t allow lying.
