Stupid Republican idea of the day

Senator Tim Scott thinks he’s funny. Spoiler: He isn’t.

And, in another related provision they snuck in, all ballots and other election materials must be published in the Cuneiform language.

Somebody set fire to the Bill Clinton Birthplace National Monument.

But they’re still steaming. . .

Also 2013

Still outraged in 2014 Where it was called “politically correct”, whatever the heck that means.

And the poutrage continues into 2015

This complaint goes on to compare a Bush card that quotes Nehemiah 9:6. That verse from the Hebrew testament, BTW, does not mention Jesus or even predict the advent.

Just to bust Republican chops, I suggest next year’s card quote Bible verses about not killing, beating swords into plow shares, and helping the poor. All parts of the Bible the modern GOP hates. For good measure maybe a bit about Jesus Mary and Joseph as political refugees.

I’m impressed with the Obamas’ commitment to go all in on the “war on Christmas”. If I had seen some sort of right wing FB post quoting their cards, I don’t think I would have believed it without checking Snopes.

Dana Milbank’s 12/21 column The GOP turns political correctness… tries to explain what the heck it means, but even he admits no one knows any more, since it’s so over-used. Lots of great quotes from GOP candidates, essentially blaming all of the problems in the world on “political correctness”. It’s a good read.

Virginia Republicans want to strip the governor of bodyguards because he’s pro-gun control.

Donald Trump included “Happy Holidays” in his official greeting. Why does he hate Christmas?

It says ‘Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays’ It’s not like he left out ‘Christmas’ for ‘Happy Holidays’ which seems to be his gripe in his quotes.

I’m not seeing stupid or hypocritical.

He’s said before how much he hates the phrase “Happy Holidays”.

“The Rev. Franklin Graham quitting the Republican Party poses a significant blow to the GOP’s 2016 White House aspirations, especially if other evangelical pastors follow suit and their millions-plus congregations stay away from the polls.”

Apparently they are pissed about congress [del]providing health care to women[/del] funding Planned Parenthood in the [del]latest pile of giveaways[/del] omnibus budget.

If only the first paragraph of that FOX News story were actually true…

Yes, a good read. What sucks is that political correctness really is a problem, but when Republicans, as Milbank notes, devolve the term into a catch-all for “anything I disagree with”, it makes it harder to attack the real problem without being accused of sounding like Donald Trump.

And the Dems version, from earlier this year.

What does your post mean?

Licensed citizens may bring firearms but not helium-filled balloons into the Capitol. The fact-checker site you link to rates “the claim Mostly True.” I find the Democratic contempt for this instance of gun craze sensical.

But what does Lance think? Is this the Gotcha that justifies denying the Governor his bodyguards?

The important thing to remember is that both sides do it.

Do what?

Candidate for House in Louisiana says any ten-year-old with a thermometer can disprove global warming.

Pretty much Louie Gohmert in drag.

Given the current weather in that part of the country, even if not caused by climate change, that’s kind of hilariously ironic.

So what’s a few dozen more Katrinas?
