The good news for me is that the news are more likely now to also report how deceiving Trump is.
Trump: the Orlando shooter was “born in Afghan”.
He was, in fact, born in Queens - same as Trump.
I, for one, propose a temporary ban on anyone from Queens running for president until we can figure out what is going on.
Does The Donald even give two tiny shits about the truth? He just blurts out whatever he feels like, safe in the knowledge that his “base” will simply believe whatever spews out of his pie-hole.
If anyone tells him he was wrong, he just insults them, and his “base” eats that shit up with a spoon.
Profiles In Cowardice (and in stupidity, if they actually think these responses are going to make the problem go away):
Republicans are going out of their way not to say the attack in Orlando was on gay people.
Scott Brown specifically refused to call it an attack on gay people.
Rudy Giuliani won’t say “gay” until Obama says the magic words “radical Islamic terrorism” .
Florida gov: Obama hasn’t called me since shooting.
I guess that’s all he’s good for is waiting by the phone for instructions.
And for committing fraud. He’s good for that, too, apparently.
Not to worry. A Baptist pastor from Natomas was perfectly willing to admit that gays were targeted. He’s just sad the shooter didn’t finish the job.
And Pat Robertson said the gays and the Islamists should be allowed to kill each other off. And Theodore Shoebat condemned the “vigilante” because it’s the government’s business to kill off all of the gays.
Why must people leave the money quote behind?
and just to preempt any claim that maybe he didn’t mean LGBT people,
Nope, no reason to think that Christians could ever return that dark time too many Muslims still inhabit . . . no reason at all. :dubious:
CMC fnord!
Well, it was Latino Night at the Pulse . . .
Only terrible, terrible Christians make the news.
But you know it’s there. Gays, Hispanic immigrants, *and *a Muslim terr’ist *all *dead? What’s not to like?
You forgot a native-born citizen exercising his 2nd Amendment rights as well.
A compendium of tweets from NRA employees in Congress. You know what they say without even clicking.
Elvis, I’m trying to stay sane and sober, don’t make me choose.
Ruthlessly shot down in the prime of life by a jackbooted thug of the tyranny.
Sanity is over-rated. Wild Turkey is cheap.
This last page of posts is exactly why I don’t think Trump or the Republicans are going to get much political mileage out of this. They have to be too sensitive to the kind of people who go to Verity Baptist, and it’s too obvious when they have to dance around the hate crime aspect. If anything, it just shows their true colors to an electorate that generally sees homosexuality as something that does not deserve any legal censure, much less the death penalty.
