Stupid Republican idea of the day

Hey, let’s give credit where due. Mark Kirk has since apologized. On Twitter. You know he’s serious because he Tweeted it. And a more heartfelt and sincere apology you could not craft in 140 characters or fewer.

Damn, what is a red blooded Republican to do when he can’t insult, belittle and slander a minority woman and get away with it? What is this country coming to? :stuck_out_tongue:

Jeezus that was a Moment Of A-holery.

But really, am I supposed to believe Kirk was entirely unaware that Duckworth’s late father was an Anglo American veteran? Even then it only points to all of us that he saw someone with ancestry from another ethnicity, and that was fair game to him. (Or, that she has to choose and either be proud she’s Asian-American or be proud she’s a DAR but she can’t be both. Still ignorant.). And the apology had to be pulled out of him with pliers.

Who cares about fucking apologies? The guy is a turd, and now we know it. Having apologized, that makes him a sorry turd.

Say, isn’t the latest GOP euphemism for an insincere apologizing called “polishing the turd”?

I love watching Republicans go for Duckworth. They think it’s going to be an easy hit because she’s a woman AND not white, forgetting that she’s also not only a COMBAT veteran (on purpose…she got into the chopper corps because it was the only combat role women could be in at the time), but one who left almost half her body in Iraq. It’s not only HORRIBLE optics but she can and does hit back, hard.

Senator Richard Burr made a joke about seeing a picture of a bullseye on a photo of Hillary at a gun store, and then said that he will do everything to make sure that, if Hillary is elected, none of her SCOTUS nominees get approved.

Actually, his statement is more ambiguous than you suggest:

Seeing Clinton on the cover of a rifle magazine in and of itself might not be that strange - she might have given an interview to one of the magazine’s reporters, conceivably - but when Burr expresses shock that a picture of Clinton in that context didn’t have a target on it, it could be mocking the troglodytes who routinely and excessively use such imagery, without embracing their message.

Frankly, anyone who produces images of Hillary Clinton with bullseyes on them, or produces gun targets with images of Clinton, is deserving of a look-see from the Secret Service, I figure. In fairness, the same for images of Trump.

Oh, but the retarded right on this board will assure you that it is only the Democrats who incite violence.

“They’re gonna put y’all in chains!”

Pretty sure that was Lincoln.

“The blood of patriots!”

From Abraham Lincoln-Vampire Hunter, right?

Lincoln also popularized the salutation: Darling fascist bullyboy.

No, he’s just a scumbag.

while killing vampires.

That *is *a moderate Republican.

It should be noted that apparently Kirk had a serious stroke not too long ago. While this does not excuse him, it may provide some context. Or not.

Strokes generally affect things like balance, motor skill, sensory input and being alive. Most of the time, they do not affect judgement.
