They are indeed taking down historical markers. The Liberty Memorial marker isn’t a memorial to the Confederacy or the Civil War in any way (and he never claimed it was, although some news services said it was), although the three other monuments coming down are.
I have no problem with it, as I observed in the thread I started. It’s not historical revisionism – it’s changing what we choose to revere and commemorate. Commemorating White Supremacy isn’t a good thing. You can put the monument in a museum, but there’s no problem I can see with removing it from the street.
Jeff Sessions is already trotting out the bullshit line about Democrats being responsible if the Govt. shuts down due to lack of funding. Apparently the Republicans are confused why the Democrats won’t support the fleecing of the American taxpayer to fund a wall that Trump promised Mexico would pay for. Dumfucks.

From a glancing inspection, it seems the nickname “Mad Dog” is more affectionate than derisive. He is widely known for being stingy with his soldiers lives as well as being directly and personally concerned with their well-being. It troubles me some that is so exceptional as to be noteworthy, but that can’t be his fault.
I wonder what would have happened if Hillary had appointed a member of the board of Theranos to her cabinet. There would probably have been five different committees, with depositions and hearings and leaks and front page stories about a time Hillary sent Huma an article about Theranos and said “pls print.”
Get ready to take one straight up the olde wazoo Dopers. U.S. Federal Communications Commission is expected to announce plans to repeal the agency’s 2015 net neutrality rules on Wednesday.
“Net neutrality supporters say a repeal of the rules will give broadband providers more control over what websites customers visit and what web services they use. Broadband providers could slow traffic to services that compete with products they own or partner with, or they could charge websites for fast-lane access to customers, supporters fear.”
