Stupid Republican idea of the day

Nothing stupid about firing him; he should have been fired months ago. However, the timing is suspect, and I expect that his replacement will live up to the stupid standards of Trump’s other appointments.

This was also Trump passing the buck to Sessions. And Sessions passing it to Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein.

And its the old triple-play, Trump to Sessions to Rosenstein! Three runs scored…

“Old Dickory”…snerk. Good one.

I think it’s gonna be a long 2 years. Every Republican congresscritter will have to face their electorate and answer for both their votes on health care and their non-votes on a special prosecutor. Both houses will likely go Democratic in 2018.

And impeachment hearings will begin in January 2019.

I’m not seeing conspiracy here; mostly dumb covering up of half-truths and overt mistakes:

blah blah blah
Setting the stage: Hillary has private email server - not illegal or against policy at the time - in retrospect, not the best idea.

Our ex-director:
Thousands of classified emails - unsecure - well it was a few but the idiots at the transmitting end failed to make classification.
New revelations about thousands of emails on a new computer (wienerpuss) - well actually just copies and weren’t really there - and nevermind, forget I said anything and try to focus on the election NEXT WEEK.
Investigation of Trump - well yes, not really, just some contacts we came across, wiretapping - nope. Well unless maybe in the context of contact from the ruskies. Wait, no, definitely. What did I testify to last time?

Seriously, this guy is/was the HEAD OF THE FBI?

The Prime Directive of life is to make more life. The Prime Directive of an incumbent Congressgit is to remain an incumbent. If loyalty to Trump is a threat to that central fact…well, he’s not even really a Republican, is he?

Reasonable. Trouble is, reason doesn’t work well in a batshit typhoon.

Here’s a video of Rep. Rod Blum having a temper tantrum and walking out of an interview. I like how some random local reporter is better than most of the national media. He actually asked some follow up questions and the guy folded like a lawn chair.

I also like the kid in the back at 0:10 saying “money.”

Man, that guy was a dick right from the first question. The reporter asked a completely innocuous question to get things going, and the Rep was already acting like he was too good for those kinds of questions. The final question was a killer. The reporter laid a nice little trap for the Rep then very calmly and professionally lowered the fucking boom.

I especially like how he instilled in all those props … I mean children … the proper values of storming off in a huff when you don’t get your way.

The Trump administration was tricked into letting a TASS photographerinto yesterdays meeting with the Russians. A meeting that was closed to the American press.

I swear, these people could fuck up a wet dream.

Yeah, I really want “Old Dickory” to catch on. Partly because I’m pretty sure that Trump didn’t know Andrew Jackson from Michael Jackson six months ago

And he’s probably forgotten again by now.

‘Tricked’…yes. Not knowingly and willingly. ‘Tricked’.

AP Radio News has been reporting that Comey had just asked for more resources for investigating allegations of Russian involvement in the campaign.

Reuters reports that Trump was pissed that Comey refused to give a preview of his latest testimony.

“Trump, Attorney General Jeff Sessions and deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein had wanted a heads-up from Comey about what he would say at a May 3 hearing about his handling of an investigation into former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server.
When Comey refused, Trump and his aides considered that an act of insubordination and it was one of the catalysts to Trump’s decision this week to fire the FBI director, the officials said.”

This is a rather interesting point, interesting for not being resolved. The theme that Comey had asked for further resources in his investigation is (last I checked) being firmly denied by the Justice Dept. And this is especially interesting because of the time passing without resolution.

Add to that irresolution, the rather stilted and curious language in Il Douche’s letter, wherein he pointedly references three separate occasions that Comey assured him that he was not under investigation.

Obviously, no one is going to ask for further resource to continue an investigation that does not actually exist.

Wisconsin legislators want to remove the requirement that children 16-17 get work permits and permission from their parents before they can work.

Oklahoma making another bid for the top spot:

Scare headline: You Won’t Find a More Horrifying Anti-Immigrant Proposal Than What This Republican Came Up With

"A Republican lawmaker in Oklahoma believes he can save his state an estimated $60 million dollars in one fell swoop by identifying tens of thousands of non-English speaking students, and handing them over to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency “to see if they truly are citizens.” …

The shocking proposal was introduced by State Representative Mike Ritze (R-80) during an interview with local news channel KWTV. He claimed there were an estimated 82,000 non-English speaking students in the state, and that Oklahoma should “identify them and then turn them over to ICE to see if they truly are citizens.”

“Do we really have to educate non-citizens?” Ritze added, seemingly unaware that, in 1982, the Supreme Court ruled states must do exactly that. Ritze also seemed unaware that the state’s Department of Education estimates there are only 50,000 English Language Learners in Oklahoma—and that many of them, the Associated Press notes, are likely citizens.

In some instances of relative sanity - a few other derplahoman Republicans are denying they ever heard of/met this guy.

State Rep. Mike “Hayseed” Ritze of Broken Arrow OK. said Wednesday that the newly created Republican Platform Caucus believes the state could save $60 million if it would identify what the caucus believes is 82,000 non-English-speaking students “and then turn them over to ICE."

I caught this young man not speaking English. Check his citizenship

What is your mother-tongue, son?
