Wait, they have to get permission? I don’t recall having to get my parents permission in Minnesota in the 1970’s to get a job as a 16-17 year old. I had a couple of them in that time.

This isn’t really all that bad. As the article notes, before 2008 the fee was attached. When I entered the military in '91, we had to sign up in Basic and pay $100 for 12 months. It’s not that bad really considering nowadays, it’s worth sometimes over $100,000 depending on where you live and what school you go to.

Oh no no no. The slightest change in vet benefits was proof extraordinaire of Obama’s hatred of the military and violation of the government’s promises to their vets.

At least according to the batshit insane “100% disabled vet” wife of a gaming buddy. Who despised Obama and all those worthless scumbags and welfare cheats sucking at the government teat. Except herself, of course.

I long ago de-friended her, but I would imagine she’s perfectly fine with this, since it comes from the Republicans. :rolleyes:

Well this is Wisconsin, and they are intent on rolling back the times.

I suggest they wipe out some environmental regs, start up some child-staffed small mining outfits and start hitting those small deposits of ultra-pure copper again. The stuff with small amounts of silver and gold in it. Maybe call them Christian Rehabilitation Camps or something. All those orphans can get great occupational training while earning their keep. Win-Win! How is that a stupid idea?

Hell, the Flambeau Mine produced; 181,000 tons of copper, 334,000 ounces of gold, 3.3 million ounces of silver, 4.5 million tons of high sulfur waste rock, 4 million tons of low sulfur waste in only four years of operation on a mine site of only 181 acres!

Just incredible wealth out there for the taking once they get rid of job-killing environmental regulations and anti-choice child labor laws.

If you have ever used industrial machinery, you probably have pressed one of those large buttons with the “AB” logo on it, or seen “Allen-Bradley” on some piece of equipment. Apparently, Wisconsin’s own Bradley family are a bunch of fuckwipes intent upon playing the long game toward a rightward country.

… a key partner in Bradley’s effort is Berman and Co., … “an aggressive propagator of industry spin and disinformation, … a ‘hired gun’ for corporate America.” Berman has targeted “nonprofit environmental, worker rights, consumer, and animal welfare organizations” …

Bradley also recently awarded $1.77 million to the newly formed Association of American Educators Foundation to silence “the organized voice of pubic school teachers” and to “advance taxpayer vouchers for private and religious schools.”

All of this contributes to the evidence pointing to a powerful private foundation “weaponizing philanthropy for their own private political purposes” …
