Stupid Republican idea of the day

There are many fine people on both sides of the issue. Besides, he’ll get at least the minimum standard 27% of the vote. Idiots, maroons, straight party line voters. I’ll assume he will wrap himself in a US flag, bray out NRA talking points, promise to kill the doctors and mothers involved in abortions, moohrr tax cuts, spout racial dog-whistles, Benghazi, emails. Probably up to 35% by now.:frowning:

The state of Louisiana is cutting its healthcare benefits because of a one cent sales tax reduction. The Department of Health Deputy Secretary announced that as many as 37,000 Medicaid recipients may have to move out of nursing homes and grou homes because their benefits will not cover their care.

It was the bus loads of illegal aliens from Maine that beat him. And antifa, cheatin’ Clinton Foundation, Chinese hackers summoned by cocaine McConnell, and George Soros a.k.a. “deep state”.

I saw the John Oliver piece on Blankenship last night and holy crap that guy is seriously creepy. Like “pedophile uncle” creepy. Even the ads that didn’t feature him were disturbing - apparently repeating the word “Obama” is sufficient to convince people to vote for Blankenship.

Well, not really, since he came in 3rd.

But I saw that too. What he was saying was awful and should have outraged me. And it would have, if the man had any personality at all.

Former Air Force Lieutenant General Thomas McInerny, an early Trump supporter, was on Fox News last night, saying that it’s been proven that torture works. “The fact is, is John McCain – it worked on John. That’s why they call him ‘Songbird John.’” When has he ever been called Songbird John?

God, just when you think Fox and the Republicans can’t sink any lower. A dying man, who has served his nation honorably for decades in the military and in the Senate: but he doesn’t like Trump. So fuck him, he’s the enemy.

Hopefully that officer is keenly aware that his career will come to a screeching halt the next time there is a Democrat, or a less belligerent Republican in the White House.

Operative word is “former”, as in “former Air Force Lieutenant General Thomas McInerny”.

Ah sorry, missed that part. :smack:

Yeh, his career is going just fine. :frowning:

Please note the utter absence of snark. I don’t waste ammo on the good guys.

Quite the asshole. From his wikipedia page;

*In 2010, McInerney provided his support against the court martial of Terrence Lakin who refused to deploy to Afghanistan due to his suspicion of President Barack Obama’s birthplace.] President Obama had released his short-form birth certificate during his 2008 campaign and released the long-form version in April 2011.

SO the motherfucker is a birther. :smack:

In an August, 2017 interview with Sean Hannity on Fox News, the following exchange occurred:

SEAN HANNITY (HOST): Well, when I say no good option – if we have to strike, we’re going to incinerate that place. The nuclear fallout, correct me if I’m wrong – the fallout potential is dramatic. I mean, potentially – am I right, or overstating the fact that millions could potentially die here?

MCINERNEY: Yeah, but they’ll be mostly North Koreans.
On a May 10, 2018 interview with Charles Payne on Fox News, the following exchange occurred in regards to whether Gina Haspel would be confirmed to lead the CIA:

CHARLES PAYNE (HOST): Senator John McCain, he’s not going to endorse Haspel also in part because she believes in torture, that she thinks it works, even though she laid out at least three instances where it did work to the benefit of humankind, not just Americans, but all human beings. Should they be evaluating this nominee on her feelings, or based strictly on the facts and her commitment not to use it anymore because it’s no longer legal for us.

THOMAS MCINERNEY (FOX NEWS MILITARY ANALYST): Well she can’t use it anymore because we have determined in Congress that it’s not legal. The fact is, is John McCain – it worked on John. That’s why they call him ‘Songbird John.’ The fact is those methods can work, and they are effective, as former Vice President Cheney said. And if we have to use them to save a million American lives, we will do whatever we have to.

Zombie Curtis LeMay.

And he’s got history . . .

GASP.

I loathe McCain, and I’m offended.

I think it’s a bullet point on the alt-right newsletter (possibly in Cyrillic). I saw some troll on Twitter floating that slur last week. First I heard of it then, so color me surprised when Gen Turgidson pipes up on Fox “News” with the same slur.

Is there some kind of Biggest Asshole of the Week competition going on?

It has never occurred to me that Republicans couldn’t sink any lower. Not once. They always shock me, but they never surprise me.

At least McCain has a brain to get cancer in.
