Too much stupidity from this Republican Congressional candidate (who is leading in the primary polls) to summarize here, just read the article:
I don’t see that at that link.
That’s a pretty conservative area of the state but surely it’s not batshit crazy enough to elect this woman, is it?
The article contains a link to the video on Ms Saavedra’s Facebook page. She’s definitely wearing a Trump shirt.
Meanwhile, I find myself scrambling to find biographical data about her, particularly the exact nature of what makes her a “businesswoman.” She shares a surname with the owners of my apartment complex.
Per the article, she ran for Texas 22nd District in 2008.
Cynthia Dunbar Total votes 2,114 3.77%
The District is in the suburbs southwest of Houston.
*The district is represented by Republican Pete Olson, who was elected in 2008 over one-term incumbent Democrat Nick Lampson. Before 2006, the district had been represented by former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay since 1985, and before that, former Congressman and three-time presidential candidate Ron Paul briefly in 1976 and again from 1979 to 1985. In 2006, 52% of poll respondents identified as Republicans, 32% as Democrats, and 16% as independents.
Texas’s 22nd congressional district following the 2004 mid-decade redistricting. This district would remain in effect through January 2013. It has the highest number of residents who identify as “Evangelical Christian” in the country, beating out Georgia’s 6th in 2015.
*
So she ran for congress in the most evangelical friendly district in the entire country and got less than 4% of the vote.
Then she moved to Virginia.
If she wins, I suspect she’ll advocate for changing the state’s motto to “Virginia is for [del]Lovers[/del] Virgins.”
Stupidly, she’s on the Republican National Committee. :smack:
She also used to sit on the Texas Board of Education. :smack::smack::smack:
The district she’s running for now is rural, on the edge along West Virginia, and while it used to be solidly Democrat, it hasn’t elected one since 1964. We know what happened then.
Thanks, but joining LinkedIn is a big “nope-ity nope” for me.
The best part: the article paints a picture of state Republicans tweaking all the rules to make her most likely to emerge from the primary victorious. Meanwhile, state Democrats are saying silently “ohpleeazeohpleezeohpleeeze…”
Oh I’m not a member. Did it insist you join first?
Well just to help those who no want clicky, it is definitely her by the pic.

She was also on the CA Latinos for Trump committee.
Yeah, I thought you had just made that for her
Linkedin says, literally, “Whosale yesoterapy boby wraps” Presumably wholesale and body, but I have no idea what yesoteraphy is.
Well, I don’t have to move, which is a relief.
Today I learned that there is a thing called “yesotherapy” which apparently involved encasing the body in a cast or bandages to “shape” it. I guess this is supposed to push the fat around so you look slimmer.

So it’s like a biologically-based form of injection molding?
Think I’ll pass on that one.
Just how specific can this “injection molding” process be? Say, if someone desired to have a toe be much larger and more prominent?
If they ever offered it for fingers, I know who’d be at the head of the line…
I know some aspiring pianists too.
Got a bad case of pianist envy, have they?
