Technically, there are kernels of truth there, but it glosses over the fact that Obama stabilized a very unstable economy, and that Trump is coming in at what is likely to be the end stages of this economic hot streak. Moreover, some of his blunders are going to lead us into a Trump recession (which he will blame on newly-elected Democrats) and some of his other blunders will make the recession even worse than it would otherwise be (again, Democrats are to blame)
And I suspect that this poll was taken before the Alex Jones smack down. It’s probably even higher now. The Republican and conservative base is appealing to fewer people, but those who remain in its ranks are blatantly and unapologetically authoritarian – and racist.
