Folacin:
Sorry about the complete quote, but I think the totality is necessary to support my statement that it turns out all those Iowa jokes we Minnesotan’s used to tell (I’ve moved, maybe they still do) were if anything too kind.
Question: Do you know how many “Dumb Iowan” jokes there are?
Answer: None. They’re all true.
So, you learned how to use an apostrophe in Iowa, no doubt.

zoid : That post is amazing, and sadly a great description of what’s happening today. The only way for it to better describe that is if you were to say a gang, a cluster if you will, of Republicans are fucking that dog.

Thank you. I sincerely wish it was not the reality we live in.

I think that’s the proper collective noun. A clusterfuck of Republicans.
Are we sure we want to piss off the Mongolians?
zoid:
Here’s how I see it…
Let’s say you have 2 roommates, Bob and Tom. One day you ask “You guys hungry? Let’s go get a pizza” Tom is in, but Bob says, “You guys go ahead I’m just gonna chill”.
So, you and Tom go out and have a few beers and a pizza and when you come home you open the front door and you find Bob fucking your dog. You’re like “WHAT THE FUCK DUDE”! Bob just stares at you for a moment then points at Tom and shouts “He took $25 from your wallet”!
Do you say to Bob:
a) “Well OK, then, keep going” and turn to yell at Tom about that $25
Or
b) “WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH YOU FUCKING MY DOG”?!
Every time someone point out the awful things Trump does, the Republican supporters shout “BENGHAZI/HILLARY’S EMAILS/PELOSI” like it changes the discussion, then the Republicans go right back to fuckin’ that dog.
I think I might be in love with you.

I really didn’t expect it to take too long for this crowd to see that in my post.
But how do you feel about his dog?
Bill Barr wants his turn with the dog; [tells federal prosecutors to “look for unconstitutional virus rules”](for unconstitutional virus rules)
Attorney General William Barr on Monday ordered federal prosecutors across the U.S. to identify coronavirus-related restrictions from state and local governments “that could be violating the constitutional rights and civil liberties of individual citizens.”
The memo to U.S. attorneys directs the head of the Justice Department’s civil rights division and the U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan to coordinate the department’s efforts to monitor state and local policies and take action if needed.
“If a state or local ordinance crosses the line from an appropriate exercise of authority to stop the spread of COVID-19 into an overbearing infringement of constitutional and statutory protections, the Department of Justice may have an obligation to address that overreach in federal court.”
“It’s clearly unconstitutional for people to DIE in direct violation of my assessment of the virus as a nothingberder. Those people are traitors and should be punished appropriately. Possibly by having their citizenship nullified. Posthumourously. Big word. I know what it means.”
Now that’s dead funny right there. I don’t care who you are.
Remember when GeeDubya unleashed the mighty power of Justice to root out voter fraud! Seems almost quaint from this new perspective.

Bill Barr has finally found a civil liberty he can support: the right to kill other people by infecting them.

I am cross-posting this in this thread and in the Coronavirus COVID-19 (2019-nCoV) Thread - Breaking News thread in The Quarantine Zone.
Republican leader wants anti-lockdown protesteros to wear medical scrubs .
#JustWearScrubs: GOP chairwoman tells anti-lockdown protesters to impersonate health care workers
Last week, after images of health care workers in hospital gear facing down demonstrators protesting stay-at-home orders went viral, Dr. Kelli Ward, chairwoman of the Arizona Republican Party, urged demonstrators calling for businesses to reopen to dress in scrubs and masks to confuse reporters.
“Planning protest to #ReOpenAmerica ?” Ward tweeted on Friday. “EVERYONE wear scrubs and masks — the media doesn’t care if you are really in healthcare or not — it’s the ‘message’ that matters!”
Ward added the hashtags #ProblemSolved , #WeAreAllHeroic , #1A , and #JustWearScrubs .
More nuttery at the link.
She is asking them to impersonate medical personnel?

Yes. Why? Because only fools do not see that, and I quote, “the media doesn’t care if you are really in healthcare or not — it’s the ‘message’ that matters!”
I wonder if she’s aware that a very imporetant part of the message is that the United States, with just over 4% of the world’s population has one-third of the cases of COVID-19 in the world. I do not wonder if she cares because I already know she does not.

That would be an important part of the message, not an imporetant part.
