Hopefully on one of these mass murder rampages, the NRA gets its wish and there are three or four fully armed “Christian” folks in the viewing audience when the firing starts. And they get the entire crowd in a cross fire and top the Virginia Tech record of a measly 32 dead.

People have pointed out again and again that there were armed police officers around Gabrielle Giffords when she was shot. Lots of good they did. Blazing away in crowded areas might be for amateurs, but not trained officers.

I was being ironic. Opposing the NRA has become a hopeless task, even with all the dead, so irony is about all that’s left. Sometimes I get the feeling the NRA is actually happy about these events.
Let me be clear. If I were in charge, the USA would have a UK or Japan type gun policy. We’d still have murders, but they’d be cut down by more than two thirds as would suicides.
