You do have to give kudos to Romney’s scriptwriter – the line “all about division and attack and hatred” makes for great headlines, especially if no one bothers to read the article.

I have give this a resounding “meh”. Something that’s peachy-keen when our guys do it is The Collapse of the Republic when their guys do it, has become politics as usual. (another current example being Executive Privilege). If the Democrats hands were perfectly clean on this matter, maybe I could raise some outrage.

On the one hand you’ve got gun activists, even fairly reasonable ones on this here forum, arguing that a private citizen purchasing or owning multiple thousand rounds of ammo is not even worth a raised eyebrow, because you can go through that in a handful of week-ends at the range or a season’s worth of hunting. And that’s fine - I can agree with that argument, or at least understand it & acknowledge it. I’ve seen Americans hunt :D. Rand Paul himself is fairly staunchly pro-guns, so I doubt he’d disagree.
But on the other hand, even if the Troofers’ bogus assertion was true, 46k bullets ordered by a federal organization spanning the continent and presumably employing thousands of individuals ? That’s imminent takeover and extremely worrying. Like, they could totally take over the country with that kind of ammo. STOCKPILES, GUYSES, HELLOOO !?
