Stupid Republican idea of the day

Senator Mike Enzi (R-Wyoming) has come up with the solution to violence in America:

I feel so stupid. I myself never did have “the talk” with my kids. It has just been sheer luck that they didn’t go out and kill someone out of plain rank ignorance that that sort of thing is frowned upon.

Senator Says Boston Attack Should Factor in Immigration Debate.

Way to mindlessly exploit a tragic event to push your own anti-immigration political agenda, Sen. Grassley, R-IA.

Asshat.

Meanwhile, the increasingly-inaccurately-named Family Research Council has figured out the real reason the Boston bombings happened.

Turns out it’s because of gay marriage.

Jeff Duncan (R-SC) grills HSS Secretary on deportation of Saudi national - which he learned about from Drudge, among other places.

Napolitano denied it, Duncan chooses to believe Drudge, Beck and Erick Erickson. And of course the non-deported Saudi wasn’t actually a terror suspect.

If you watch the video, note how Duncan keeps shifting to passive voice to avoid naming his Stupid Republican sources: “CBS reports that the gentleman was there…but it has been reported [that] he is being deported.”

Well, you know, people are saying…

Governor LePage of Maine doesnot know how wind turbines work.
I don’t even.

Got one of those in my yard. Powerful little fucker, makes the wind blow. I can see it spinning, go a couple blocks away, and the wind is blowing there too! I’d take it down, but I’m concerned about the global consequences.

Read the article more carefully.

He’s not saying that all turbines work by having electric motors blow them.

He’s saying THIS turbine has an electric motor to make it look like it’s working even when it isn’t, to be impressive and sabotage the oil industry with bogus wind farms that can’t actually power anything.

He’s an entirely different breed of stupid than you identified him.

So he’s not stupid; he’s a lying sack of shit. That makes me feel better.

That would be kind of interesting. I mean, do exactly that, set up a wind turbine that turns when there is no wind, and see how long before somebody catches on.

Well, he was right about one thing:

After all, Mr. LePage is the governor.

Have we mentioned Nate Bell of Arkansas in this thread yet?

Nate Bell, ladies and gentlemen.

He apologized … for the “poor choice of timing.” You see, it’s not that he doesn’t think all those Boston libs are a bunch of nancies, he just should have waited a little while before tweeting it.

With a resounding 38.1% mandate. Maine has too strong a trend of independents who rarely accomplish anything but cause election losses by the nominees of the party they more closely identify with.

Yep. LePage got Nadered in, running against a Democrat and an independent.

The Dem and *three *indies.

When it comes to funny quotes,
Mr Lepage is your man.

Rep. Steve Stockman makes a funny about the Boston tragedy. Yes, that IS pretty humorous.

Is this a whoosh? I mean, climate change denial is stupid and evil, but as far as such denials go, this one was actually pretty funny.
