Stupid Republican idea of the day

I think fudrucker would approve of that as long as they were at the back of the bus to Hawaii.

I like the part where he says that the best way to build wealth is through “upward giving”.

Hell, Obama could walk there, but it would take a while.

Multi-Level Methodism.

The Daily Show skewers the Tennessee GOP’s Medicaid “lottery”.

The bitterness of political satire. Yes, it is funny, yes, it is also tragic. People will suffer needlessly, some may even die.

I have determined to remain sane and sober, I often feel compelled to choose.

Wondering if it was hyperbole, I googled it. No hyperbole. Something horrific right out dystopian speculative fiction.

Health care by lottery is sick. Turning down federal funds to provide health care without a lottery is truly obscene. It’s a pity that Tennessee does not want to join the first world, and instead just closes its eyes to the illnesses and deaths of its own people and mindlessly chants “Thank God for Mississippi.”

Sure, sick little children will die, but they’ll die free! Freedommmmmmmmmm!

Rep. Mike Conaway (R-TX) has a rather despicable thing to say about atheists in our military. You see, even though they’re in the military and have been trained as to the military’s ways, atheists are so depraved that they’d sink to speaking ill of the dead, even those within their own ranks. That’s how horrible atheists are.

Linky (with video).

Yeah, ‘cuz no theist would ever say something insensitive to a bereaved family member about their loved one’s fate in the afterlife according to that theist’s own personal beliefs. Theists’ embrace of God’s love prevents them from ever making such cruel and heartless remarks, thankfully.

For instance, you’ve never heard of a fundamentalist Christian telling the families of dead servicemembers that their sons were in Hell, have you?

Oops. Never mind.
Nitpick: Technically, though, Conaway is not suggesting that the hypothetical atheist member of a notification team would be “speaking ill of the dead”, i.e., criticizing or disparaging them. Rather, Conaway’s imaginary foot-eating atheist would just be making a very insensitive and unkind remark about the consequences of death.

The fool doesn’t even realize that we atheists are cannibals who would never leave remains to worms.

I thought that was only babies. Have I been doing it wrong all these years?

You’ve just fallen for the Chilis marketing ploy.

Mmmm… babies’ back ribs.

The Hell Bound Train will make a special stop just for you. Private car, too, because nobody will want to hang out with you.

Hey, it took three of us to make that joke work!

Do we all get private cars, or do we have to share?

There have to be Republicans involved in this somehow:

http://freethoughtblogs.com/ashleymiller/2013/06/06/its-ok-to-shoot-hookers-in-texas-but-only-if-its-dark-outside/

A guy rented an escort; she didn’t think the fee included sex; he did.

When his time was up, she tried to leave. He shot her, she died.

He was acquitted, because Texas has a law that says it’s OK to use deadly force to recover property at night.

He was using a gun during the commission of a crime (soliciting a prostitute). Whatever happened to the enhanced charges for using a gun during a crime?

Bill Maher - Craziest Congressperson playoffs. (Shedding light on America’s dimmest bulbs.)

Round three:

Not bad, but he really doesn’t seem to get the idea of a single-elimination tournament, does he?
