Stupid Republican idea of the day

Most of them already wear crosses, so the job is already halfway done for us!

“Homofascists” = excellent band name!

Fisher says people would stay away from “the racists and the homophobes and the bigots” if it’s known who they are like it’s a *bad *thing, or like being a racist, a homophobe, or a bigot is something to be proud of.

Can I recommend the buttplug ?

Nitpick: abortion was illegal everywhere until the late sixties. Between 1967 and '69 12 states relaxed or abolished their restrictions on abortion.

Ricky Scott vetoes a bill passed unanimously by both houses of the Legislature. Perhaps the least controversial bill all year.

It seems that a (strictly voluntary) $10 surcharge on a wildflower design license plate was deemed a tax increase by the governor who had already approved three other alternative designs that cost $25 extra a piece.

A weird man.

Cementing his place as a leader of the Stupid Party, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal publishes an op-ed in Politico, probably because it was too dumb for the World Nut Daily:
How about we take all of this energy being spent on autopsies and focus it on painting a picture for the American public, particularly for young people, of what a free and prosperous American future will look like with smart conservative policies.

No more self-analysis; we’ve had our catharsis. The season for navel gazing has passed.

Let’s stop defeating ourselves, get on offense, and go kick the other guys around. If you’ve followed the news over the past month, they are certainly asking for it. We are the conservative party in America — deal with it. We have a lot of dissenting voices. So what? Deal with it. The American public waxes and wanes. Fine. It will wax again soon enough. Deal with it, and start fighting for our principles instead of against them, so we can be in position to create the next wave.
That was presumably the warm-up to the part with some actual content. Here’s the content, such as it is:

He even concludes by telling Republicans to “put on your big boy pants.”

And he’s supposedly one of the Republicans who will help them stop being the Stupid Party. Good luck with that, guys.

Rumors that he is being cast as the lead in a remake of the classic silent movie Nosferatu have not been confirmed.

He’s okay…he’s still getting residuals from that Buffy episode he did. He finally gave up on the lawsuit he had trying to get residuals for all of his CGI’ed doubles, though.

Rick Scott or the Gentlemen?

He doesn’t wear pants. He wears red and white checkered overalls:

:stuck_out_tongue:

Do both.

You know, I was with him up through that part. I would be very happy to see Republicans propounding some smart conservative policies for increasing American freedom and prosperity. Might even vote for some of them, if I see fit.

So what’s the picture he actually paints? Yup, nothing but the same tired old caricatures and distortions of various Democratic/liberal positions. Apparently even smart conservatives still can’t think of any actual policy proposals of their own; they exist just to rail against liberals.

What exactly is a ‘sodomy based marriage’? Aren’t marriages normally based on things like love? Or family arrangements? Or shotguns? Sodomy is the sexual penetration of a human body through any orifice except the vagina. Yes, blowjobs are sodomy.

Maybe it’s like a shotgun wedding but with a different punishment.

Would they accept a celibate marriage, then, if sodomy were not integral? I’m thinking no.

It sounds like there may have been two people touching themselves in that room that day.

I remember NY, but didn’t realize it was as many as 12 states. Still, through most of the 60’s the majority of states banned abortions.

If abortion is illegal, only criminals will have them. (Doesn’t really have the same ring as the gun one.)

Not safe for work:
Really not safe for work. Not safe for good taste. Seriously, do not click on this:

This is where infants with full heads of hair and hairy palms come from.

Though it’s not strictly appropriate for this thread – not only not Republican but not even American – I can supply an answer of sorts. About seven years ago a group of anti-gay English groups spearheaded by Low Church/Evangelical Forwrd in Faith Movement successfully forced the withdrawal of the candidacy of the Rev. Canon Jeffrey John to a Church of England bishopric. The kicker? John, gay by orientation, remains in a now-celibate relationship with his partner of many years.

One we should be so lucky to have.
