Stupid Republican idea of the day

Really? I googled “Jim Garrow” and of the top few results, the only one I saw that was him was another post of this story. Yeah, pretty much an anonymous internet crank from what I see.

Man, Obama sucks at being a Muslim. He should know all about proper foot etiquette.

Nobody said he was a good Muslim.

Well yeah they repeatedly say he’s an evil Muslim. They don’t teach foot etiquette at Evil Muslim School.

He’s been laying low since Tennessee lawmakers discovered his other foot-related plot:

So here we have a version of Poe’s Law.

No article can be so ridiculous that it can’t be mistaken for an *Onion *article.

I thought I’d remembered that one. It was too good not to have made this thread before now.

nitpick: I assume you mean “King of the Hill”, and it’s a pretty much middle of the road politically, making fun of whiny liberal social workers and gun nuts with equal vigor

Following this up led me to one of the the weirdest juxtapositions I had ever come across.

Girl’s Saving Girls Gun Giveaway

Stupid Republican ideas have consequences:

Yes, “King of the Hill”. It’s me that’s, “Over the Hill”:smack::smack::smack:

I was raised a fundagelical Christian. I used to pick (rhetorical) fights with Mormon missionaries. I used to believe that listening to death metal was sinful or demonic or otherwise dangerous bad.

But objecting to the existence of a foot bath because of “creeping sharia” is a scary kind of nuts. So what if it were a foot bath for observant Muslims? How is this a problem? Objecting to it is somewhere on the level of objecting to “pareve” tags on food packaging, or deciding to be constantly drunk to prove you’re not from a teetotal sect.

I’m afraid that much of this country is turning into a very bad country in which to live, where freedom of religion itself is treated as the enemy. (Yet, somehow, billionaires bankrolling campaigns will still be “free speech.”) :frowning:

Indeed, half the humor is in Hank Hill being endlessly perplexed and nonplussed when he encounters various kinds of liberals, who apparently were absent from the Texas he grew up in. He just does not know what to make of their world-view.

Reminds me of the crazy woman who objected to halal turkey slaughter of Butterballs.

In Ohio, the Tea Partiers are turning against Republican Gov. Kasich.

Just as a fortune cookie fortune is funny when “in bed” is appended, Faux News and Tea Party criticism of Obama is understandable only if followed by “and he’s black”.

I’m not sure this counts as a dumb idea, but it sure wasn’t a bright move.

We’ve been able to re-use this headline a few times, it feels like. I swear it’s a new story:

GOP-Led Voter Fraud Investigation Uncovers only GOP Fraud

Either they think that foot baths are a foothold (heh) for Sharia, or they’re the kind of people who thinks Muslims should be shot, not accommodated in any way.

That’s fucking awesome! I’ve said it before I’ll say it again: for so many issues, conservatives seem to think “well we do it so they must be doing it too!”

Is there a link from a mainstream, relatively unbiased source for this?

Miami Herald.
