Fred Thompson endorses John McCain
While I’m glad that they won the Iraq war over there, I question that it was really president McCain that put them over the top.
Victory? Wonderful! What did we get? Wait, what? That’s all we got, victory? Can we give it back?
Grampa Fred wasn’t even entirely conscious when he was running for President. I think the best place for Grampa John is in the corner of the nursing home dayroom swapping tales of the old days with Grampa Fred.
Did you notice that the first words in the ad were “purity” and “piety”, and that all the sheep were completely white… then the “bad” sheep had a black face?

To be fair, the phrase “black sheep” is common enough that I’m willing to give the writers the benefit of the doubt on that one.

Its a Biblical routine, more importantly. He said beware of them who come unto you (“come unto” means they meet you…God, what sick mind you have!..) dressed as sheep, but inside they are raving wolves…etc.
Natually, sheep are white, so for contrast, the “ringer” must be dark, visually speaking. Its stupid, vicious, and negative, but it’s not particularly racist.
With alldue respect to the right to be snarky in the Pit, I am under the impression that John McCain is a U,S, Senator frin Aruziba who must run for re-election if he chooses not to retire. And that Mr. Thompson was speaking in Tempe, AZ, where it would make sense to endorse a fellow Republican running for re-election.
There are 536 elected officials of the United States besides the President, after all.
Aruziba? Must be a district in the Panama Canal Zone … so the rumors about McCain’s citizenship WERE true! :eek: Dodged a bullet on that one, I should say.
