Summer's here and I'm hot and muggy: a topical MMP

Up, caffeinated, off to irk.

You beat me to it…

My son came over after his night shift and put in my kitchen AC. What a swell young man.

Brad cheer!

THE PLUMBER IS HERE!!!

I haven’t had a kitchen sink or dishwasher in almost three weeks!

Yay!!!

Hooray for plumbers and wonderful AC installing sons!

I had coffee this morning. Mind you, I gave up coffee several months ago: the amount of sugar I put into it wasn’t worth the calorie expenditure. But it was an absolute requirement today. Now I have to do some research. Oh, JOY.

And hubby won the blood sugar war this morning, by 8 points. Both readings were good, but daughter is still perturbed. She’s so CUTE!

Sounds like something my family would play, too, if it were relevant.
So maybe you’re not quite as weird as you think you are
Either that, or I’m a lot weirder than I think I am. And let me tell you, I think I’m plenty weird already!

Yay!! for seeing the end of the kitchen reconstruction!

We’re all weird.

Next week Wednesday the last things get installed and we’re done!

The new Penguins arena will serve --------- RC COLA!!! WOOHOO!!!
I may actually start going to hockey games!!!
And if they add Moon Pies I may have to get a season ticket package!

Thanks for the background, sticky and gt. I think telling the pastor was the right thing to do.

I had an inappropriate dream about a coworker last night. I feel a little weird today carrying on a normal conversation about work stuff with him. Like he’s somehow going to know that my subconscious was thinking those things. I think I’ll just hide at my desk to be safe though.

If I even thought about cleaning my house as often as you apparently clean yours, it would be clean enough for surgery.

Hmm… That new paint in the laundry is kind of OR-green…

What’s that line about when one door closes, another door opens? The ongoing “Get a job for DH” saga continues. He had a temp assignment with the Boy Scouts, of all things, that lasted one week. He “wasn’t a good fit” for them. Seems that the placement agency has yet to find a good fit for these people in the past two months, so it sounds like they’re the problem.

At any rate, the place he was with about a month ago called to see if he was available. They’re evidently still trying to find a way to bring him in full-time.

Try again. Attempt at ID: FAIL!

Bwahahahahahaha!

gotti appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed for DH. Ok, sump’n gotta give for somebody cause I’m runnin’ out of appendages to cross.

Da cave is defilthyfied. I really only clean it about every two weeks. I mean, sheets get changed weekly and I may vacuum or dust some in between but real cleanin’ only happens every two weeks. Really.

Ok, I need a shower and then I should go run a few errands and such.

Nope! Cackles!

Rigs: What did you think all my bitching about students was about- random complaints? And I mold young minds quite nicely… for evilllll!

Got to teach that to Nat when he’s older.

Right. Got up, got everyone dressed, and went to the playground for two hours. I feel like a Real Mom. Of course, Gnat’s watching Alice in Wonderland for the forty-third time while I type this. I should be making lunch…

Or some of those chocolate coconut things. I baked a lime yogurt cake (anyone else read Smitten Kitchen?) on the weekend because we were out of cake.

Mr. Lissar thinks “Out of cake” isn’t a valid concern. I think he’s wrong.

It’s fun to watch. It keeps her motivated to take care of herself and keep her blood glucose down. It’s even more fun when all three people with diabetes in our family participate!

Errands done. Da yahd needs a good mowin’ but it’s still wet after all the rain even though it has not rained to day. Guess I get to do that later today. Woo and Hoo.

Right now, however, I declare it to be nappy poo time!

(Ralf makes a mental note to visit Kopek’s neighborhood next Halloween)

I used to mold young minds when I was a scrub scout leader. I made an ash tray out of one once…;)

Haven’t made the peanut chocolate things yet.

That may be because I’ve got a Costco box of Wunderbars in the basement.

Attacks Things Randomly Husband (our housemate, for those of you who are newish) says he ate cake for breakfast and pie for lunch, and that somehow this is all my fault. The pie is not my fault. I didn’t buy it.
We’re going to start getting an organic vegetables box, which might change the bread/cake/pie slant of our current (last few months) diet.
And thanks, Juliana. We’re just going bonkers. Gnat’s got his quarterly assessment in a couple of weeks, and we’re going to submit his numbers and feel bloody guilty, but he can be anywhere between 3 and 28 in his glucose range. He’s supposed to be between 6 and 12, and 5 is about where an adult feels shaky and tired from lack of blood sugar. His consumption doesn’t change that much, and sometimes he crashes overnight because he’s still honeymooning, even though the honeymoon means it’s his own insulin that’s making him crash.

Sigh. Bang head on wall. Repeat.

There was a Cinco de Mayo lunch today at work, but I felt unsociable so I skipped out. When I got back and asked how it was, they said it was just the normal cafeteria taco salad, a cake, and a mariachi band. And everyone just brought food back and ate at their desks. Now I’m really glad I skipped out.
