Superman and Lois Season 2

It was cute how the fight scenes at the beginning and (near the) end of the episode were the same, except for being flipped left-to-right.

P.S. If you really think Superman can’t be trusted, you don’t lock him up next to another Kryptonian he can conspire with. Come on!

The way that four-star reamed out Anderson, he might as well have been a lowly LT. She made a good point that his predecessor never had any problems with Supes. Of course, what neither she nor Anderson knows is that Supes is married to Lane’s daughter. Now Anderson may have destroyed any possible trust that Supes could give him.

Grandpa Lane found out almost immediately that Superman was arrested. That’s not something that I think would become public knowledge so quickly. He must have an inside source feeding him information. My guess is it’s SGT Wu.

They may just have the one facility capable of holding Krytonians.

Imagine the public reaction to Superman being arrested. The Dow would plummet (for one thing), and widespread panic would probably ensue.

I suspect someone in the government knows this - and are keeping it the deepest possible secret. It’s in no one’s interest for this knowledge to be leaked out.

I’ve not yet watched the show but I’m interested in how it’s going-better quality/acting than Smallville, say? Or your average CW super-show? Or middling?

I didn’t notice the flip, but I did notice it was the same fight. I liked the callback.

Anderson is not a good planner, even if Superman does talk (and that’s a big if), he will never speak to you again nor to any one in the US military. This move is the nuclear option and it destroys long term relationships - and frankly, Bizarro isn’t worth it. From what Anderson knows, B’s very powerful, but has only shown up in places to do targeted hits and hasn’t gone after anyone who wasn’t in his way. It’s a problem to be monitored, but not worth this.

Are Ally Alston and Gen. Anderson from the DC comics?

This may be a coincidence, but I think it’s interesting that their surnames are so similar. Both begin with “A” and end with “on”. Of course, it’s possible that the screenwriter unconsciously associated them as being Season 2 villains. (I haven’t read this entire thread, so apologies if someone else said this first.)

“Ally Alston” sounds a lot like Alexandra Allston (New Earth) | DC Database | Fandom - who is (one form of) Parasite.

Anderson appears to be a version of “Outburst” (or at least shares a name with him) Mitchell Anderson (New Earth) | DC Database | Fandom

Did anyone catch this exchange between Clark and Lois?

Clark (through a mouthful of toothpaste): This whole thing is getting pretty (muffled) bizarre.

Lois: It’s getting what?

Clark: Bizarre.

Lois: Oh.

Yes, I heard that.

I consider it to be one of the best, if not the best, superhero shows on the CW, produced by people who truly love and understand the character of Superman. My reaction for the Pilot episode last season:

Yep, caught that. On par with the earlier episode with the word “doomsday” dropped into conversation.

S02E07 Anti-Hero

ELIZABETH HENSTRIDGE (“AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.”) DIRECTS - Superman pleads with Lt. Anderson (guest star Ian Bohen, “Teen Wolf”) to investigate Ally Allston (guest star Rya Kihlstedt) and Lois receives some very upsetting news. Meanwhile, Lois helps Lana prepare to fight the good fight. Lastly, Jordan is still irritated with Jonathan for lying to him.

I wonder if the four-star from last episode really did bust Anderson down to lieutenant.

So Anderson is not only an idiot and an asshole who tortures prisoners, he is now an ex-lieutenant who blames Superman for all his problems. And he is willing to hand the Big Bad the key to destroying the world. Good job!

Is Bizarro really dead? We saw the body, but there were several rounds of green kryptonite sitting right there next to him.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Jonathan does develop superpowers, and his family angrily assumes that he’s still using.

It’s somewhat surprising that people with this knowledge “Jonathan is acting like he’s protecting someone” and this knowledge “Jonathan has a girlfriend” aren’t applying their knowledge of teenagers to deduce the obvious (Jordan must already know since Timmy already told him that his (Timmy’s) supplier was that girlfriend).

Two investigative journalists (at least one of them award-winning) for parents who somehow continue to fail to ask the obvious questions about pretty much every aspect of their personal and professional lives

Right. If his parents thought for two seconds, they’d realize that Jonathan would lie to protect four people: Jordan, Sarah,Candice, and Natalie. Shouldn’t take them long to narrow that field down.

The cobbler’s children have no shoes.

Lois and Clark are running on emotions, not logic, in regards to what Jonathan did.

Exactly this. If this were anyone else, Lois would turn the full Reporter Death Glare on the situation and figure it out. But its her little boy - She just can’t see that.

Jordan should see it first. And I’m also quite surprised that Jordan didn’t go and try to comfort Jonathan on this. Twin bond and all.

(And I frickin’ loved this episode, by the way).

In the comics, Green-K has the effect of empowering Bizzaro and healing him, just as Earth’s yellow sun can heal Superman or Tal-Rho, so it’s possible he could recover.
