Waitaminute. If the pelicans were carrying diseases, wouldn’t beheading them cause a lot of pelican blood to get all over stuff? What would be IN said blood, if not diseases?
Osten was, and forever will be, a pussy. And a stupid one.

It will be interesting to see what kind of dynamic (or possible teamup) would occur if a twist landed Lex and Rob in the same tribe.
Oh, absolutely. I’m not saying he wasn’t a great big wuss. Just that I can cut him a bit of slack on the swimming part. But only that part. The rest of it—selling all his clothes and then whining about being cold; objecting to moving the shelter above the high-tide line because he was scared of the jungle; the pelican incident, and in general freaking out about any wildlife at all; constantly moaning about his “temple” and how he was going to catch pneumonia and die!—there’s no excuse for that.
Does anyone get the sense that Kathy may have… uh… thrown the reward challenge? After taking her inventory of the Chapera camp, she said, “Guys, all this stuff’s gonna be fine, just so you know.” Could be that she meant that they wouldn’t miss what they lost, although it seems like losing the tarp & the parachute would make a difference, no matter how swank the camp is.
I got the sense that on her second go-round (where she was in control of what the outcome was), she plunged rather gracefully off the log.
I could be hallucinating, but that was my immediate thought.
I thought it was pretty clear several weeks ago that Lex would orchestrate Colby and Ethan getting kicked out. No surprises this week.
But I have to wonder if Lex is smart enough to be thinking that there might not be a merge, or that there will be a tribe shuffle beforehand. Otherwise, he’s setting himself and the rest of his tribe up to be picked off one by one once a merge happens. He may seem like he’s got things under control, but his strategy of horribly weakening the tribe could be a disaster. Based on the previews, though, he might just luck out!
Brandon was a jackass. I loved during the final tribal council when the jury questioned the final two and Brandon asked Ethan who he thought were the least and most deserving players not in the final two. Without even pausing, Ethan said “The least deserving would be you.” So true, yet Brandon got pissy and voted for Kim Johnson over Ethan. He should’ve respected Ethan’s honesty.
Back to All Stars, I liked Ethan a lot, but he played badly this time. In fact, I’m very disappointed in the poor play of several players, especially Rob Cesternino and Ethan.
If you’re referring to the challenge that I think you are, Keith won that one. It was the first challenge after the merge, so it was for individual immunity. It had come down to Keith and Tina as the last ones standing, and Keith convinced Tina that he needed the immunity more than she did. Tina reluctantly jumped down from her pole, and Keith ended up with immunity. Jeff Varner was voted out in a tie breaker with Colby. (Ironically, Jeff V. thought he was safe and had jumped down from his pole when Probst offered him a jar of peanut butter!)
The revenge of Kimmi!
I didn’t see the preview for the next episode (TiVo cut off before it was over), but are we sure it’s a new episode? According to the website,
The reference to coffee and ‘highlights and never-before-seen footage’ makes me think it’s a clip show.
Sorry, I hope no one considers that spoiler information – I didn’t think to hide it in a box.
I agree that it may already be part of Rupert’s strategy, it’s just frustrating for me to see him doing that. I agree that Rob will be bitten in the end, but it seems there’s enough people right now, to have seen some discussion of an alliance not involving Rob as the head honcho. While I think it may be smart not to make a move, since Chapera seems to be making a clean sweep, I was hoping for some talk that didn’t involve Rob as the leader. Jenna, Rupert, Alicia, and Tom wouldn’t have to worry about Rob and Amber right now, but we haven’t seen any conversations covering that aspect.
I’d like to see someone on that tribe doing some thinking for themselves. I’m sure they must, it just hasn’t been shown. I guess to make time for the Rob and Amber sucky face. Looks like that changes soon, so I’ll stop with the complaints.
My thoughts exactly- I actually thought Kathy was a bit obvious about it. One of the boldest Survivor moves ever, and no one seems to have noticed. I really like her chances, I think she’s playing the best of anyone right now.
What’s with all the slamming of Boston Rob? He’s easily the most improved contestant, being a genuine all-star every week. He flipped the boat. He ran on the beams. He got his team off to a huge lead by running off the end of the boat to dive in, then closed the gap on Ethan in the jungle. This week he takes on the final archery challenge and wins. An annoying megalomaniac who is easy to make fun of and imitate? That’s good TeeVee!
That’s why we keep ragging on him. It’s a lot of fun to make fun of the school bully (from a safe distance, when he isn’t around).
