Survivor March 4 2010

I’ll be right there with you. He’s so stupid but oh dear god that body of his . . .

I think they have no idea what is going on when they choose people for that. They had nearly random people in it last year.

Does he even have the idol?

I’m unfamiliar with her from previous seasons, but I can’t even fathom why she was considered a “hero”. Lazy, conniving, entitled, and lacking either charm or looks that might make her more palatable. Good riddance.

I can’t stand Rupert for a myriad of reasons, but one of the biggest is his obstinate belief that somehow this is a game based on worth and integrity, and the extent that he would hold petty grudges because people weren’t “loyal”. Get over yourself jerkwad–he’s an infant in a game of (mostly) grown-ups.

What’s there to redeem? He’s just as smart and hard-working as the last Best Of competition.

And while I’m not familiar with Russell and his season either, I can’t wait for the Villains to lose one (eventually; let’s thin that other herd a little more first) so they can boot his delusional ass.

They didn’t show Russell finding it, just looking for it.

The Rob & Coach conversation was great. What is Coach, 5 years old? Rob, you never play with me until its time to get ready for a challenge, boo hoo. I only wish Rob had slapped him and shouted “You can act like a man!”

And Rob’s description of Russell was right on - “He’s like the Hobbit… on crack.”

When Coach had is emotional breakdown, I flashed back to his original season. Didn’t Coach counsel Sierra after a similar episode?

I recall he said almost exactly that, without the slapping or shouting but with the fist-pump.

That whole challenge was fan service. Unfortunately Skeletoney and her skinny friends ruined it.

Probst’ latest blog post is good reading…

I was reminded of this by someone on another board…

James: “The social game is a distraction.”

Yeah. That’s exactly the mindset that sent you home early in both of your prior seasons, once with TWO FREAKIN’ IDOLS in your bags.

I think the distinction between hero and villain is largely a matter of perspective. Better to call the teams: Jerks vs Likeables. You don’t get too far in this game w/o a bit of villainy in your bag.

Cirie was a favorite her first season because she was such an unlikely person to even survive in the wild, and she saved her ass in a big strategic move (IIRC), and ended up being quite the strategic player. She was doing it again this season, and just got caught, that’s all. She plays a very strong “social game”.

Tom’s approach to JT was brilliant. Probably the best thought out approach ever and done instantaneously:

  1. Tell JT he is the one in power
  2. Target Cerie (a. who has just shown JT that he is 5th in pecking order b. not running the show at all)
  3. Now all we need is a third person to go with Colby and myself to go along with the Idol.

Absolutely well played on Tom’s part.

I missed the first few minutes of the show – tuned in when Tyson was talking to Coach, then caught the whole thing with Rob. What was he crying about, exactly?

Agreed – he’s playing with the big boys (and girls) now.

Man, seriously – I thought my eyeballs were going to pop out of my head they were rolling around so fast. Have you ever seen this game before, James?
Excellent episode, altogether – it’s definitely shaping up to be a first-class season. Getting rid of that lazy ass Cirie was definitely the right thing to do. (Good lord, couldn’t she have at least pretended to make an effort on the slip-n-slide?)

Sandra said something mean about him at tribal council. It was so mild I don’t even remember what it was; something like he wasn’t a hard worker.

I think she said that he is big on the planning then disappears when they have to do the work. Very mild, and considering the source, should have just rolled off Coach. Guess he was a bit hormonal that night.

If Sandra, Skeletor and Rupert are the next to be booted, I will consider this the best season evar!

Rupert is very unpredictable. I remember him being quote brilliant some times, and then utterly clueless at other times. We’re getting mostly the latter this time…

Still, I’ll never forget that shelter he built in the sand and those poor, poor souls shivering in that cold, damp pit. And he was supposed to be some expert on shelter, too.

Ha! I remember a few weeks ago when Jeff asked the Villains how there shelter was, and they were all complaining about how bad it was. But Jeri shrugged and said “I’ve had worse.” She was one of the poor saps living in Rupert’s sand pit.

Good call. I remember her saying that, but it didn’t register that she was one of the sand crabs stuck in that shit hole.

I really hope the Villains start losing some ICs. I don’t want to see them pick off some of my favorite players once they merge.

On Fans vs. Favorites, Cirie, Parvati, and Amanda were the ones who convinced Erik to give one of them the individual immunity idol he had just won, as a mark of “trust”. They told him if he did so, they’d vote out Natalie, the only other remaining player. Of course, Natalie was in on the plot, and they immediately voted Erik’s stupid ass out. IIRC, Cirie was the one who came up with the plan.

Ah, yes. Quite brilliant. Of course, Erik wasn’t the sharpest knife in the rack, either. Still, that was a great move on her part.

And she always has the crazy idea to vote off the strong players while the team still needs them. You have to wait for the merge. I agree with **ArchiveGuy
** about Cirie. However, I disagree about Rupert. Remember, his nobility got him that bonus prize- it worked. I don;t think he’ll win this time or get a big bonus, but it did work.
