Ted Nugent: "Muslim devils should die"

I was thinking a herd of wildebeast, followed by a lion family, but your scenario would work as well!

You mean like this?

ETF, you’re not going to believe this, but the word “contumacious” reminds me of an exotic dancer I once knew. And no, I didn’t have an affair with her; we were only friends. (Damn, I don’t know which sounds worse.)

Anyway, she put up words on a blackboard (actually it was green) in chalk every day in order to try to widen her vocabulary. Imagine my surprise upon seeing the word “contumacious” appear there one day.

Yes Eddy

S.A., I really do see what you are saying. It disturbs me that people really do form some pitiful semblance of an opinion that way. Maybe I should pit them?

Only two things are infinite, the univierse and human stupidity. I am not sure about the universe.

Nah, you’d never find the likes of them here.

 That’s great. I hadn’t it before. Thanks.

So basically conservatives are discriminating listeners while liberals are mindless followers? :dubious:

Pretty much.

And one of your problems with celebrity activists is that it smacks of conceit and arrogance, eh? :wally

Or, the other way around.

Well, you know, there is no lack of hypocrisy coming from the right these days. Not to mention the epidemic of denial about it (among other things.)

Hahahaha funny. We have S.A. for the conservatives, me somewhere in the middle, and Blonde for the liberals, all using the same arguments both for and against each other simultaneously. The irony is winderful

Now that I’ve given this question the answer it deserves, I’ll try to answer the implication. Think about it. If 99% of the Hollywood message is liberal, it only stands to reason that anyone who decides to listen to it will follow the liberal message. This is why if there has to be celebrity evangelizing on matters political, I would like to see it more “fair and balanced,” as I said. I’m certain there are mindless followers and discriminating listeners on both sides of the spectrum, but virtually the only input that comes out of the entertainment industry favors the left, so any infuence acheived will be in favor of the left.

Welcome to the Pit, Steve. What you are observing is SOP around here.
P.S.: Man, you guys are quick on the draw tonight. I expected to get my real answer in before the snide one was taken seriously. Obviously, I took too long composing the real one.

Yeah, let’s just all get along, eh? Now the mods will move this thread back into another forum, unless we get a post from a bow-hunter enthusiast.
Or we could all pick our favorite Ronstadt/Nugent songs…

And one serious answer deserves another, I suppose. There’s one fatal flaw in your logic, which is:

You fail to account for those discriminating listeners on the left, who will not neccesarily follow mindlessly. Furthermore, while 99% of liberals may (and I do not accept this premise, which is really more like hyperbole) be liberal, it’s my contention that the right makes celebrities that are mindlessly followed. Cases in point: Limbaugh, O’Reilly, Coulter, various bloggers and right-wing editorialists, etc. Most of these (except maybe you could make a case that o’Reilly is a journalist) people are paid (if they are paid) for anything except offering their political opinions in an attempt to influence people. At least liberal celebrity activists have real jobs.

 Those damn parentheses, interrupting my train of thought!

Anyway, this is suppoer to say:

Most of these (except maybe you could make a case that o’Reilly is a journalist) people aren’t paid (if they are paid) for anything except offering their political opinions in an attempt to influence people.

Not are. :smack:

FUCK! supposed.

Oh yeah, and Nugent can kiss my ass. What a fucking hypocrit, wanting to commit our troops to fighting Muslims when he was a chicken shit mutherfucker when asked to serve his country himself. ARM the BEAR!

Well, Ted’s older than dirt, so we can’t send him off to Iraq. I’d still like to see him against a lion barehanded, though.

On the issue of journalism regarding the recent debate: I am appalled. Even Bush supporters must concede the fact that he choked. And, I hope that even in the state of Texas, most folks are embarrassed and disturbed by his inability to convince us that a) the war on Iraq was necessary; b) the war on Iraq can be won under the current adminstration; and c) our President is capable of forming a complete sentence.

I see you’ve listed them in increasing order of difficulty.

I have read both books (1984 and Animal ).
But it was long ago.
I’ve got to get back into the classics.

tomndebb-thanks for the explanation.
