If this statement were true, it would set up a paradox for the observer no? How do you know what this Hollywood message is if you haven’t decided to listen to it? If he is going on tour with Toby Keith, that’s good. At least he is doing something now, instead of shitting himself, but I just can’t get loose of the contempt I still feel for him. He and I are about the same age. I was in the same draft lottery. I went to the draft board and induction center, and later on I enlisted on my own. As worried as I was about going to Nam, I did not shit a lot, did not bring disgrace on my family, did not turn my back on everything I had been brought up to believe is right. My father and all my uncles had gone to the World War. They were just regular people, not a single blood thirsty killer among them. So, I did like everyone else I hung out with. I did what was expected. To me, doing anything less would have been a slap in their faces and a mark on the family name. However, there was a huge feeling of relief when I did not have to go to Nam. The difference again is, I didnt try to dodge and then come back later talking shit about kill kill kill.
