Terell Owens shoots himself in the foot yet again

From the linked article:

An absolutely classic non-apology apology.
And there is no way he plays for Seattle. None.

Yeah, it’s like he said, “Donovan, I’m sorry you’re a dick.”

Yes. He won’t get a long-term deal, but someone will give him a one-year, five mil deal.

Sure does. It makes it clear that he went down whining like a baby. He doesn’t even have the brains to know when he’s beaten.

Far and away the absolute best moment of the entire press conference was during the Q&A session with Rosenhaus:

Reporter: “Drew, what have you done for your client other than getting him kicked off the team?”

Priceless.

Next Question!

Well, it was one step above saying, “I’m sorry if people took my comments as negative,” but it’s still a lame apology.

I think that what we saw yesterday was as humble and apologetic as those two asses can get. Seriously. It’s just not something they’re capable of.

Rosenhaus couldn’t have looked worse. This could really damage him.

I’m reading where the Jets might be interested in him (3rd item down).
Well, he’d be in the biggest media market available, and he wouldn’t have a long drive to go home & sulk. Sounds like a winner to me.

I saw most of the press conference last night. Utterly loathesome, the pair of them.

(I’m not even much of a sports fan, but the whole I’m-sorry-if-I-said-anything-that was-negative crap really gets under my skin. For an apology to even be considered, you have to admit that you screwed up. Rosenhaus kept saying “Our first priority is to get Terrell Owens back on the football field.” Guys, if you are sincerely apologizing, your first priority is to apologize.)

I just saw the press conference. What a horribly insincere apology. And Rosenhaus came off a complete loon.

To finish my thought, I got a kick out of Rosenhaus saying “I love this man. I am behind this man. I will always be behind this man.”

That would be because he is a complete loon.

Yeah, I saw that, it made me want to puke. If they sign that fool, I’m hopping on the Giants bandwagon for good.

Really? Didn’t Matt Birk confront him after the “walking off the field” incident? I was also under the impression that there was a fair amount of locker room resentment towards Moss due to Tice’s double standards when it came to superstars. I may be wrong…any Vikings fans want to chime in on this.

I’ve also seen Michael Irvin’s name came up a number of times and regardless of what Irvin had going on off the field, he would NEVER have bad-mouthed Aikman to the press. Just like in Philly now, during the Cowboys heyday the sun shone right out Troy’s ass and you’d have to be a damn fool to not realize that.

No, I think T.O. is all alone here.

Did anyone see where Owens had commented that he’d love to play with Peyton Manning?

From here:

Call me a homer because I’m a huge Colts fan, but I can’t see THAT ever coming to be. Then again, maybe all those attitudes (Manning, Harrison, Dungy) would calm TO down a little bit.

Nah.

Dungy would never put up with him, and Manning throws to too many different recievers to satisfy Owens. Plus, they’re 8-0 and just beat the world champions. Why would they need him?

Hey, vib, I agree with you. I’m just relaying. When I first heard (read) him say that, I literally laughed out loud, spewing a mixture of Mountain Dew and Fritos TV-ward.

FWIW, I did the same thing when I heard him say, way back when, how much he’d like to play in Philly. For a different reason (mine was: “Once an asshole, always an asshole”), but the exact same reaction.

I don’t know if this means anything, but Vikings coach, Mike Tice was on a local radio show about an hour ago hinting that T.O. may be going to the Patriots. It’s hard to imagine the ultimate “me” player going to the ultimate “team” club but Tice seemed to be implying that Bill Belichick is interested.

Developing…

Maybe we should start a company that produces a mixture of Mountain Dew and Fritos, just for such occasions.

You are in the minority. In fact, you’re the first Jets fan I’ve heard say that they wouldn’t want him on the Jets, Granted, my sample size is small, but of those polled:

I want him on the Jets
My buddy the hardcore Jets fan wants him on the Jets
Jonathan Vilma wants him on the Jets (Unnecessary Roughness was hilarious this week, btw.)

I’ll be interested to see what Greeny says if his throat isn’t still hamburger this morning. 20 minutes to go…
