At least this episode puts to rest the ridiculous idea that John was all freaked out because he saw his mom being raped.
Bonnie Morgan (evidently uncredited).
Cool, that chick from Battlestar Galactica: Razor is on. She’s so tiny and hot.
There was a lot of midriff showing in this ep.
Great fight! There’s no love lost between those two emotionless automatons!
I don’t think she’s bad. I mean she is playing a robot.
Oh and NOW she doesn’t have a sense of humor?
“That’s strange…the new AI appears to be capable of witty and ironic one liners. That’s usually a much later stage of development.”
I agree. Notice how the robot Weaver was watching the video of the real Catherine Weaver to see how she acted and was able to use that to make Savannah more at ease around her. Manson as the real Weaver seemed a lot less stiff and more natural in the video. The Weaver-bot is learning how to mimic real human relationships.
It’s similar to when Cameron’s programming got temporarily messed up and she believed herself to be Allison Young from Palmdale. Summer Glau was able to act in a wholly different manner, since when she’s around the Connors, she doesn’t need to act like a human.
Great ep, but I’m a little confused. A new Terminator showed up, killed Crazy Uncle’s girlfriend, and took her persona, right? But doesn’t that mean she was a liquid metal model? If so, Cameron should have had a much harder time making a pretzel out of her right?
The new Terminator didn’t change her appearance and wasn’t a liquid-metal model.
Of course, how Cameron got the giant pretzel out of the building and all the way back to the Connors’ without being spotted is unclear.
Oh, okay. I confused the girlfriend with the woman whose car the Terminator hijacked. Was that the doctor’s assistant or something?
So, John isn’t freaked over seeing his mother kill a man. Wow, that’s rough.
I thought this episode was REALLY good. It had a lot of twists and elements that make sense but are not just the obvious tv show cliche… for instance, the idea that some people are going to travel back in time AWOL because of combat fatigue, and the idea that a child psychologist would be useful when an AI was learning. (Now, I’m not saying that actually makes real-world sense, but I definitely get the feeling that there’s a staff of basically smart and creative people who are really thinking about the situations they’ve created and interesting ways they could go…)
I definitely liked the therapist character. I hope there’s more of him.
I think so. But now I’m confused as to why the terminator killed her.
Decent episode. I rather enjoyed the two terminators stopping their fight when a family entered the lift, with the redhead moving her fringe around to try and cover up some exposed metal.
The Connors were speculating on either the T-888 was sent to assassinate the therapist or to protect him from something. The therapist briefly mentioned that a temp agency was sending someone to cover for his missing receptionist. That could’ve been a cover that the latest T-888 tried to use to infiltrate his office.
So that the Child Psychiatrist had to call a temp agency to get a replacement for the dead secretary.
The redhead terminator was meant to be the replacement.
Thank you thank you! The fact that I couldn’t uncover her name was infuriating! How did you find that out? Did you already know who she was?
For anyone interested: a video outtake of Bonnie from Van Wilder proving that the part where Cameron dislocates Red’s shoulders was not actually a visual effect. Whomever it was that had the idea to cast a contortionist as a Terminator is positively brilliant.
Righto, cheers for the stuff about a temp agency. Didn’t catch that mentioned while watching.
Everyone’s butt talks…but making it type is impressive!

I’m finding this season developing much better than last. Loved this episode. As mentioned, it’s clear the writers are really challenging themselves on where and how to take the story and avoid trite pitfalls. I hope it starts to really pick up steam in the viewership.
Quite welcome. Guess my Google-fu is stronger than yours.
umm… you might want to go back and watch the last few minutes again…
No, I think I said that right. He didn’t see his mother kill a man… because he’s the one who killed the man.
So is the AWOL Girl a terminator now or is she just dead?
I think it’s time they invest in a good EMP.
