Still not convincing. here, let me buy you a drink…
Awww… :o
So, how you doin’?
Kids – get to be grown ups. Married – reversible  Old… um… Yeah, how dare you bring that up! It’s illegal! Over 40’s is a protected population!! You can’t discriminate against me based on my age!!! Yup, that’s the ticket
Thanks, gt. I’m MUCH better this morning. The overwhelming urge to bite people’s heads off has subsided somewhat. I’m glad to hear that you’re feeling better as well.
Last weekend, I went to a Stampin’ Upparty. McUNE, have you heard of them? It’s like a Tupperware party except with rubber stamps and paper stuff. They have some scrapbooking supplies but the bulk of their stuff is rubber stamps. So anyway, I bought a catalog and my head is still thinking about that stuff, so yesterday when I stopped off at Michael’s I saw some die cut machines. And they look so cool. Here’s some: Cuttlebug, xyron and sizzix. I’m not sure why I’m fascinated. I don’t have the money to get them and I don’t scrapbook, but there’s something mesmerizing about them. So I’m planning another trip to Michael’s. . . just to look.
And Mork now has me thinking of going to Best Buy to check out The Orange Box. I have no idea why. See above about no money and I’m lousy at those video games. I did Syberia I and really liked it, but I cheated at almost every step and even after I got the hint, I sometimes couldn’t figure it out. I did get to the end though. And I still have the Myst trilogy and I’m working on The Longest Journey. (I like ones with nice scenery). So hopefully, I’ll be able to suppress the urge to go to Best Buy. . . even if it’s very close to Michael’s.
And yesterday, since all I could do was sleep or sit still, I watched some videos. I saw Miss Marple: The Murder at the Vicarage, Veggie Tales: Minnesota Cuke and a National Geographic special on Taboos. I watched the episode on sexuality. It was fascinating. Did you know that transgendered people are more accepted in Thailand than in the United States? I did not know that. And eunuchs in India are said to have magic powers. I just knew y’all would want to know that.
Meli and I just got back from going to the Ren Fair here on campus. It’s a fairly small one, but still fun. One of our friends is a juggler and we there performing which is always fun to see (and meli got a good picture of him laughing at my attempts to juggle… which ended with me whacking myself in the head with a ball and knocking myself over… I swear I am getting halfway decent at it). I also got some nice homemade scented candles and a neat scarf for Christmas gift.
Mork, Amazon has The Orange Box instock it appears. Amazon Linky As does Best Buy. Best Buy Linky Try Target, Toys R Us, and Wal-Mart as well. They all sell video games. Starting tomorrow Toys R Us is having a promotion for buy 2 video games get 1 free.
From what I’ve heard the Orange Box is awsome and many people are really enjoying it. I asked hubby to put it on gamefly so I could try it. I hate shelling out money not knowing if I will like it or don’t know if I will play it after I get all of the achievements.
Roo, Sampin’ Up is dangerous for me!!! I have MANY, MANY, sets. I really like them. The only think that I don’t like is the sets are so bulky, so I don’t mount them on the wood, I stick some EZ-Mount on them and then I can use them on acrylic blocks, and store them in CD cases, and takes up a ton less space. Did you buy anything but the catalog? I like their catalogs, I can waste a lot of time looking through them and love their ideas for cards and such!
Die cutting machines are awesome. I actually had a Sizzix, but I didn’t use it much because it took up SO much room, and it seems like the fonts and stuff were never quite ther ight size for me. I ended up buying a Wishblade. With that you can cut any font that you have on your computer. Including dingbats, etc. You do not have to buy their SD cards or whatever to get more fonts. This was a PERFECT solution for me. I love my Wishblade. I didn’t get the cool pink one though, since when I bought mine, they didn’t have that one. A tip, don’t pay full price for any of the diecutting machines or accessories. They always go on sale or have promotions. Scrapbook.com has great sales every now and then. If you have any questions about any of the die-cutting machines, feel free to PM me. I don’t remember if I put my email in my profile, but if I did feel free to email me, lol. There are a bunch of different ones out there. Including ones that you won’t find at Michael’s.
I’m here with free wireless! 2 of my 5 friends are here, too! yay.
Dinner soon, then hot tub!
Sinuses still a bother–they will be until God makes it frost here. Come on, cold weather.
Silly Kitten is adorable. I love her coloring.
We all assumed it was an alternate spelling, of course.
I’m waiting with bated breath to see if my friends are going to have an extra ticket for the Bob Dylan/Elvis Costello (with Amos Lee as the opener) concert. Should know in the next few minutes. Allegedly.
Thanks for the good wishes, Roo.
I understand the fascination with die-cutters. Well, not so much understand as share. I have absolutely no use for a die cutter, but think it would be cool to have one anyway.
Went to Kohl’s and Trader Joe’s earlier. Got all kinds of yummies. (Didn’t get any triple-ginger cookies, if that makes you feel any better, LiLi.)
Very cute kitty. And yes, we also need juggling pics, Ali.
Ooh Bob Dylan in concert. I almost got to see him (along with almost every other band and musician that I would love to see live) at the Austin City Music Festival this year, but my brother ended up have a month long field exercise scheduled during it. Grrrrr. Now we are going to have to wait until 2009 after he is back from Iraq.
Anyway, on to pictures. First off here is a good picture that meli took earlier this year. Next, here are a few of me today (is it just me or is that coat awesome? $10 at Goodwill. I love that place). Finally here is an actual good juggler critiquing my abilities and giving me helpful pointers on how to improve.
We have been having internet “issues” here at Casa de ems parents grrrrr
I also have Teh Sick which includes earache, sore throat and sinus hurt  so I have been lying on the couch with a blankey and a box of kleenex for the past 3 days as the amount of snot coming out of me has been nothing short of impressive. Feeling marginally better now. Had pizza for dinner which is the first food I have eaten and been able to taste in 3 days
So I will go and sit in the corner with gt and all the other sickies who have cooties
Talked to Mr-ems-to-be today and he sounded really down…says he is missing me. awwwwww he is a sweetiepie
For the record, cheese on toast isn’t a very satisfying supper. My own fault for not cooking dinner I guess. And the ice cream I got yesterday wasn’t all that good. Sucks to be me, huh?
