That's it. Let's have a Comfort Party.

Did someone say Brownies? Sounds like a quality breakfast to me.
Should we get real loud and get out the pots and pans and wake the sleepy-heads? On second thought, no… They’re all soooooo cute sleeping in a biggol’ heap like that.
What say someone find those CD’s with the nature sounds mixed with Classical music. I’m up to doing the dishes.

  • Softly sings to self while running water and putting on teapot. *

Good Morning! :trying to smooth out cat-nest-hair:

Who’s up for Banana Nut Bread? I’ll help Tel with the dishes as they bake.

Two loaves - one to eat warm from the oven with butter and the other to let cool and use to make french toast.

Mmmmmmmmmm

Banana bread! Yes indeedy! I’ll have mine warm, no butter, straight out of the oven, with a spoon. Hmmm. Maybe you’d better make an extra loaf.

And let’s see…peanut butter from a spoon! Aaaaaahhhhhh. Heaven.

I’ll put on the new age classical with wolves howling in the background and loons calling… Very soothing.

::gathers up stray glasses and plates to load the dishwasher:

Nifty table bodypoet. Good buy was it?

May I have a 'stachio?

Need help with the 'nana bread?

Well, I thought it was a good buy, because I was in luuuuuv.
$150, and I would have gone higher because it is so beautiful! I love primitive furniture, and have wanted something like this for my kitchen for ages. (Keep an eye open for a “How to Remodel My Kitchen” thread in the near future, coming to a SDMB near you.)

Folks are starting to stir, maybe we should go take a loose inventory. I’m not even sure who is left under all those blankets and snugglies!

[sub]knocks quietly at the door[/sub]

Ohboy! this looks like a hellova party. I would have been here earlier, but I was out playing in the snow that some of you have been mentioning. Snow! Ohboy!

But now it’s cold, and I probably wasn’t dressed proper for the cold weather, (Snow! Wow!) so would anyone mind if I crawl up near the fire.

I’ve got a pack of cards, just right for playing five hundred with, and hundreds of m&m’s, for playing poker with. And cj, if you’re missing any Discworld books, look no further - I’ve got 'em all.

I’ve got no major worries, 'cept for general America’s Cup disapointment, and the fact that (dun dun duuunn) uni starts up again tomorrow. Eep.

I also bring lots of French Vanilla icecream and yummy fruits - strawberries, grapes, those little variously coloured berries. Yum. Oh, and freshly whipped cream.

And about fifty Simpsons episodes on tape.

[sub]Now can I come in? It’s cold out there![/sub]

** Raises hands from artificialy induced semi-stupor, and blinks eye, yawns heartily. ** :o Between the canines howlin’ and the felines purrin’, Who the heck needs sleeping pills?

Ya 'all didn’t think I’d be the first to leave now did ya? You better start getting out the frozen dainties of those slackers.

{BLANTENT HYJACK}cjhoworth I picked up a long ignored Discworld book, titled ‘Truth’ and another titled ‘Gaurds, Guards’ lurks in the bookcase. Are these worth getting myself in for the expance the series has become? Prachett gets alot of ribbing in LotR threads, and I thought anyone who gets talked trash about that much must be at least worth checking out?{/BH}

I’ll head to the Grocerie for dinner. What sounds good?

Just checking in. I’m responsible for 3 of the kitties running around here, a Maine Coon looking cat called Nefertiti, aka Superfoof, an copper colored tabby with tufted ears called Copernicus, and a large, solid black cat with a white spot on his chest and a loud voice called Yang. Since these are virtual kitties who actually belong to friends, I’ll also invoke and take responsibilty for a couple who are no longer on this earth, Yang’s sister, Yin, who’s all white except for a black spot on her chest, and my own old beloved Moggie, a sort of medium-long haired tabby. I think I also materialized a couple of hot tubs and some hot chocolate, as well as the library books and a bunch of blankets.

If y’all don’t mind, I think I’m going to hang out here between visits to the chiropractor if the party goes on that long. I’ll provide a Palm Pilot to enter the inventory and guest list in. Hmmm. Looks like I’d better help out with some of the tidying up and put another put of hot chocolate on. Anyone want Amaretto in theirs? I’ve also got whipped cream, ginger, and cinnamon to add to it.

Manx, welcome to the party and to the SDMB. I’ll be happy to take you on at 500.

Bodypoet, thanks again for all you’re doing!

CJ

Oh, hey. Time of my life and all that. It’s good to have company at the moment.

CJ, sit down here and prop up your tootsies. A little work on the feet can do wonders for the back, y’know.

I’m considering some Suaza Diablo, anyone else?

And let’s see…from the grocery store: Tel, how’s about something nice and salty and crunchy? Maybe I’m a little hormonal, but I need salt. I picked up a whooooole STICK of pepperoni this morning, but if anyone wants to share, we’ll need more, because I’m a pig about pepperoni.

And ice cream. More ice cream, please.

Manx, welcome! Come sit by the fire–here, just scootch the cats right onto the floor–and put your feet up on this nice soft pillow. How about a nice hot chocolate?

shhhhhhhh… Nite watch fixing to give away to day watch here.

I’m looking at the new light, touching features as it crawls slowly across Karol’s living room.

Faces, so beautiful in slumber … do I see a slight smile at the edge of Washte’s lips … dreaming of Kal

So many puppies to let out, their boundful joy at daybreak, kitties curling around my legs as hounds go sniffing at the shrubs

I’m putting a pot of coffe on, even tho’ I’m headed to the corner where even Karol’s broom wont’ wake me :stuck_out_tongue:

What a wonder it is, to be so washed in the beauty of what mankind can be …

go in peace my friends, on Godesses’ day …

(ya’ll look reallysweet … HATED IT that my bra was froze !!! I’m gonna get who done that !! grr)

lemme see if I can do glarGH justice …
soft wind of morn kiss my face love seems kitty feeling sweet smoke fire longing laughing daybreak clean sleepy warm smiling fulfilled lay my head pillow cloud daybreak once again …

I AM home.

Well, it’s Sunday morning, almost time for breakfast.

Cheese eggs and biscuits with sausage gravy, anyone?

And since the state package store is now open on Sunday, give me a list of stuff to restock, and I’ll go. I can definitely see that we need more Bushmill’s.

Robin

Hoping y’all are doing well…looks like everybody tumbled into sleep around the same time I did!

The dishwasher’s purring in the corner, and I’m getting ready to head to the winery myself this morning for more blueberry wine for my SDMB friends.

But before I go, just wanted to say this to NinetyWt:

"soft wind of morn kiss my face love seems kitty feeling sweet smoke fire longing laughing daybreak clean sleepy warm smiling fulfilled lay my head pillow cloud daybreak once again …

I AM home."

NinetyWt, that was pure delight. If poetry can feel like a hug, that just about nailed it.

As always, I forgot a few things:

Greetings, Lynne_kilii. It’s good to have a kindred spirit on the SDMB. Here’s a tissue for you, just in case…and welcome home.

Just saw bodypoet’s praise of peanut butter on a spoon…and thought, hmmm, what ELSE is really good that way? So on my way back in, I will grab the industrial-sized jar of Nutella and grab the last of my late grandma’s raspberry jelly and strawberry jam.

If it’s possible to taste a memory, I’d like to share this with you. You’re wonderful people. Like Fred Rogers, you’re all special just the way you are.

(And if I’ve missed anybody coming in, welcome…come in, sit in this recliner by the fire and warm yourself up!)

Washte offers to put rag socks in the tumble dryer for everyone to warm their tootsies on this lovely Sunday morning.

Bought lots of Sunday papers so everyone can peep at the comics whilst waiting for brekkie.

I’m up for the sausage and gravy. pass me the Comics. None of those depressing news programs on the TV. How about those long ignored Simpsons tapes?

I love Sundays, they’re just loaded with lazy

I’ve got a huge bag of doughnuts and other pastries from the local bakery, and some nice, warm, crusty bread. I’ve also got the fixings for chocolate fondue for later, complete with marshmallows, graham crackers, and lots of fruit for dunking.

CJ

Thank you, Todd. Sometimes I get it right. Or somewhere close.

Altho you might notice that the dogs should have had boundless joy, not boundful. sigh.

Pass me the funnies, please. I’m busy splitting a biscuit so’s I can pour sausage gravy on it. And cj, how about a couple slices of melon? Thanks.

:ivylass yawns, stretches, fixes a lopsided bow on Tupag’s braid (thanks, sweetie, for the M&M red toenails) and wanders off to the kitchen to help Tel with the biscuits with sausage gravy:

Have you tried mixing grated sharp cheddar cheese in with the biscuit mix? Yum!

I’m cranking up the coffee maker to make some cinnamon hazelnut coffee. Anyone else want some? I’m going to have a big cup, peruse the paper while chowing down on the SOS, then, I’m going to…(wait for it)

Take a nap. I love Sundays.

bodypoet, can you work your magic and cancel Monday so we don’t have to go to work tomorrow?

This thread has been like a nice warm comforter and bedroom slippers. Very cozy.

Oh, do we have to feed the critters? Usually my dog gets her wet food on Sundays.

Thanks, Todd33rpm. I see we’re out of those four packages of brownies I made, so I’ll go get some more, and this time leave some batter for thems who want it.

makes a list Brownie mix, Hot Cocoa, Hot Apple Cider, s’more funny movies… fixins for s’mores ( we do have a cozy fire around here somewhere? No matter, you can make em over a gas range, too  ), and some bad romance novels.
ventures out into the cold I’ll be back!

Back from the excursion to obtain blueberry wine…another case for all my good friends. Has MsRobyn arrived with the Bushmill’s yet? (And blessings to her for braving the elements to get it!)

Mmm…more brownies. I’ll go get the vanilla bean ice cream and hot fudge for when they’re ready. Bless your heart, Lynne_kilii! Yeah, there’s a fire, and I brought some clean sticks in to toast the marshmallows…

And…here are your funnies, NinetyWt, copies from two different papers, just in case you were missing some. I thought “boundful” was suggesting that the puppies were keeping their joy in check until…um…taking care of the morning’s first business (I just thought it was a beautifully subtle way of saying it on your part).

Bless you, cj, for the chocolate fondue fixin’s. How’s your neck? grabs extra cushions for cj just in case
