The Big Bang Theory, Season 10, Episode 11 (December 15, 2016) -- "The Birthday Synchronicity"

My favorite line: “I did a Sudoku first so I’d be ripped.”

What happened to the implied romance between Leonard’s dad and Sheldon’s mom?

You’re aware that no one has ever actually said her name in the show, right? It’s in the credits, but admonishing us for not knowing the name of a character that’s only been revealed in the credits is a bit Sheldonesque, in the bad way.

They didn’t sleep together after sharing a cab, but said they will be visiting each other in the future. It hasn’t been mentioned again since that episode.

Odd that, with that long labor and all her friends showing up, nobody thought to call Bernadette’s relatives? Where were Mike Rostenkowski (her father), Mrs. Rostenkowski (her mother), Joey Rostenkowski (her brother) and her four other unnamed siblings?

They called them, it wasn’t funny so it didn’t make the cut.

I’m still waiting for them to get back to the lesbian attraction of Amy for Penny.

Now that Raj can talk to women without needing alcohol, he should hit on Summer Glau again.

I didnt care for it either.

Amy’s smile was the best.

Her name appears on a name tag in 4 of her appearances. In particular, in the latest episode we see clearly her last name is “Davis”, she’s an RN, and her ID badge indicates she works at Pasadena Memorial.*

And since when are credits not part of a show??? People watch the credits, you know. Especially for a series that has vanity cards.

  • It would be Sheldonesque to point out that her badge has a Caduceus on it rather than the more proper Rod of Asclepius.

I hope that they revisit that budding relationship soon.

Not this viewer. And I doubt if I’m the minority.

So do I. But I don’t think it’ll work as a major plot point but just kind of pop in on them from time to time.

Someone mentioned contracts coming up so if they get renewed, which after 10 years and a baby I’m not sure how likely that’ll be, another couple seasons would be nice though, hopefully they’ll get back to them.

Baby usually indicates the show is about to go into a death spiral and get canceled.

What has happened to the potential relationship between Raj and Isabella, the cleaning woman at his lab?

Dead as Francisco Franco, I hope. that entire plotline was stupid.

IMO, if it is part of an aired episode, it’s canon and fair game. That includes everything from the opening atom to the vanity card.

I’ve heard behind-the-scenes folk from TV shows talk about how they wanted to, or tried to, bring in characters for a particular relationship or story line, but couldn’t find the right actor that meshed with existing characters. I wonder if that’s what’s happening with Raj; the showrunners want to pair him with somebody, but haven’t found an actress that they like for him. There’s been Lucy, Emily, and Claire, and even some one-episode characters like Lalita and Yvette the vet. If he’s still alone, it’s not for lack of trying.

Not necessarily. The best thing about TV babies is that they can be used or ignored as needed.

Don’t look it up. How many children did Ross Geller have on Friends?

Another example of disposable sitcom children; the kids on Everybody Loves Raymond. As I remember, the daughter showed up somewhat often but the twin sons rarely appeared.

Two, Ben and Emma

Does Marcel count?
