I’ve heard behind-the-scenes folk from TV shows talk about how they wanted to, or tried to, bring in characters for a particular relationship or story line, but couldn’t find the right actor that meshed with existing characters. I wonder if that’s what’s happening with Raj; the showrunners want to pair him with somebody, but haven’t found an actress that they like for him. There’s been Lucy, Emily, and Claire, and even some one-episode characters like Lalita and Yvette the vet. If he’s still alone, it’s not for lack of trying.
They married off the only match for Raj.
And he just had a baby, too.
Yeah, I know that’s usually what happens but I still want a couple of more seasons. Like others have said they could use the kid sparingly or have it off-screen. Like Howard can’t go to some new movie opening cuz he has to take care of the kid and just never show the kid.
Plus I think Raj and Stuart fighting over who gets to babysit could be fun like they are doing now with the decorating and putting the crib together.

Ok, but the showrunners have to know that, right? WTF were they thinking?

I thought Claire meshed well and that she and Raj had good chemistry. Then, suddenly, she was gone.
Just have the baby off-screen all the time. And crying.

I heartily endorse this suggestion.

…and the baby’s first (and only for awhile) word is ‘Howard!’
