A cold and rainy day in no. Illinois. I haz a touch of a tummy thing so I’m choosing to stay home today. Campbell’s chicken noodle soup may be dinner.
Raining all day so far and we really need the rain. I plan to stay in and finish a book I am reading.

It ain’t mother’s day here, it’s in a couple of weeks I think. I always forget, but so does my mother, so that’s OK.
It’s all sunny here, but not hot, just pleasant. I’m supposed to be finishing off the last bit of this assignment (it’s due by Thursday, I expect I’ll be done tonight) and revising. One good thing about studyin’ horticulture is that I just managed to totally justifiably claim that going to the garden centre for a wander round and some cake with some others off the course was revising for the test this week

We went to the cafe in Leonardtown for a sorta-brunch - **FCD **got pancakes and I got a French dip sammich. I’ve now got the first load of laundry in the washer, two more to go. Except for that, it’s gonna be a lazy afternoon.
There’s enough rain in the long-range forecast that with luck, I won’t have to water at all!

Lawn mowed and body bathed, so all is right with the world. About 88F now, so the AC is getting a workout. No rain today, but the chances increase as the week goes along. Will shortly make myself presentable and head over to the Red Robin (Yum) for sustenance.
Jeans in the dryer, second load in the washer, one more to go. rah.
**FCD **just went to nap.

'Beamer made me a card and some very nice tie dye bandanas. He was going to make waffles, but decided to head out for pastries with his dad. Chocolate croissants have a certain ring to them I think. 
I was up until 5 am last night/today. I’m not really sure why. I settled all kinds of really important questions of the universe, like what color my hair should be next. For some reason, I’m a little tired today.
Tomorrow we (hubby and I) start a ketogenic diet. He’s pre-diabetic, so he wants to get his glucose swings stabilized. I’m trying it to see if it helps with the migraines. It does for some people (and I need to lose weight anyway). We’ll see how it goes.

I’m still going through some closets and drawers, I found Sah-son’s records. I hope they are all there.
I’m going to make cabbage soup for dinner, I took some ground beef out yesterday to make it but got lazy and didn’t.
I love cabbage but I hate cutting it up.
I think I wil throw in a handful of lentils too.

Me too. Some people still like them. I’ll continue to think that Sah-son is one of them.
I took my mom out for lunch today, for Mother’s Day. She had a taco salad and I had a chicken fajita salad. It’s getting really warm, and although I love the comfort food meals this place has, we both for once wanted something ligbhter. But I did buy a piece of pie to take home for tonight, gooseberry.
My cousin and her husband brought us their annual gift of fresh rhubarb. Now I have to start working it up into pies for work. I got over fifty pounds, and next weekend there will be more. If you like rhubarb pie and live close to Topeka, Kansas, let me know.
Ooh, oooh, me! I loves it!

Nut that reminds me - did you see the question I had about adopting a hive with you to mind it? Maybe I could get a jar of honey every now and then or something. I’d like to support bees, but there’s no way I could take up bee keeping. Please let me know if you’re interested.

I started cutting carbs in February. I try to stay under 20 everyday, but sometimes I go over.
The salt cravings are what get to me, and it’s hard for me to use salt after being told for years that it is bad for you.

Supper’s in the oven, a sleepy pup in my lap and I’m fixin’ to pull the towels that I forgot about out of the dryer. then it’s chill time.
We had a good supper of steak, instant smashed (don’t judge), onions, and corn. It’s getting close to ice cream time. Thus endeth my weekend.
Red I hope this works. I want to do something like the styles on this page. I’m calling it “ocean hair”. I’d like to get the base color a bit closer to a carribean blue, but these capture the basic idea.
We’re going to head out to one of the nice restaurants for a mother’s day dinner. I’m guessing that we’ll have to pick up McDonald’s for 'Beamer. He’s not always a fan of fancy food. (Hint - it’s not that fancy.)
My mother abused me when I was younger. She hasn’t been mean to me lately, but I barely see her anymore, and she’s not all there these days, and tends to say and do awkward and inappropriate things.
So we have a sort of uneasy relationship. I did give her a DVD for Mother’s Day, so I hope she’ll like it.
In slightly lighter news: Something unfortunate happened to me today. My roomie was helping me organize my room, and she literally found a skeleton in my closet! :eek:
Well, actually, it wasn’t in my closet, it was in a bag. I’d bought a novelty death’s head for a friend of mine, but haven’t gotten to give it to him yet, and my roommate found it, and didn’t seem too happy about it. Oh well, I hope she wasn’t too pissed.
