Sari I just thought of one more thing you might try for Percy-the-cat. Talk to the vet about anti-anxiety meds for a few months, until he realizes that you aren’t just fattening him up for the kill. Kitty valium, so to speak. I think it shouldn’t be too expensive. Just a random thought. I also just realized that one reason you got him was the meeces (mouses). If that’s still the case, you really should go find a high prey drive, very outgoing, young female to handle that for you… Percy can be your good-karma kitty that hides upstairs.
Today we shall be having a combined Packing/Happy Father’s Day party. How does that work, you ask? It’s a bit of a mystery to me as well, but here we are. Today is the only day my sister could make it over to celebrate with my dad, so we’re gathering here at the box factory to pack for a while. Then I shall BBQ steaks and we shall socialize with dad.
I’ve had my coffee but need sustenance. Off to find the food.
Looks like I’ll be watching Channel 9 news tonight.
FCD came back - he’s not healed enough to ride. But he drove back to the dealership with his leather jacket - he needs the sleeves shortened and my machine is too wussy to deal with leather. Plus I just didn’t want to deal with his jacket. So he’s having it done by someone who does it for a living, which makes more sense.
The carpets have been cleaned - at least the traffic areas have. Boy, even after vacuuming, there’s lots of hair clumped thither and yon. After it dries, I need to pull out the vacuum cleaner again. Oh, and I cleaned the vacuum cleaner banister - we’ve got an air line in the garage, so I just blew all the crud out. Yay!
Time to rest, I’m all hot and sweaty. And hungry - holy crap - I missed lunch! I need to forage for something.
FCM, looks like a great cruise. You splurging and getting a cabin with a balcony? (If you can afford it, I recommend it). Been on a lot of cruises myself, but never through the Canal (I’ll get to it eventually). Enjoy!
Finally ran the vacuum sweeper around the house, changed the air filter and have been getting rid of cobwebs, some of which are nearly as old as the house. Also some soccer and golf-watching in-between bouts of activity.
We go cheap and get the inside cabins. It’s not like we spend much time in them - pretty much just sleeping and changing. When I did the British Isles and transatlantic with my mom, we had a balcony - she’s a bit claustrophobic. It was nice, but not worth the extra money to my mind.
Besides, if my sweetie wants to take a nap, the inside cabins are nice and dark during the day.
I made and ingested a ham-n-swiss sammich. My sweetie is napping. I think I’ll assume the TV watching position.
I am going to have move from my treasured Long Island to a much less expensive area, which will likely be somewhere far away from a major city.
Lawyer-Nephew is managing my non-existent finances (very long story which boils down to until the SSA gets their act together, my brother and two nephews will be supporting me)
I am completely nauseated even though intellectually I know it’s the right thing to do. It’s right financially.
But emotionally and psychologically, it’s devastating
Ya know, sometimes we just need to, for lack of a better phrase, “get our gay on.” This afternoon we have ingested beerverages, raked people over the coals, and watched Snow White and The Seven Dwarves. Just been soooooo much fun. Now everyone is just chillaxin’ for a bit, hence me here postin’. In a little while we will do prep for dindin and then ingest said dindin. For me this has been one of those “perfect” afternoons.

I did get my ride in today, which is why I don’t have the china packed yet. But, I did have fun.
