The coughing, sneezing, wheezing MMP

Have risen and consumed coffee. Paid bills (the 15th, doncha know). Waiting around for mover, who is supposed to a) be the creator’s gift to moving and b) arrive by 9. He is now planning to arrive at noon. I have pointed out that I have a doctors appt and will be leaving. The productivity. I feel it rolling off of me.

In the other room, the cats have found a marble (I think - I’m not checking). Whatever it is, it rolls loudly from one end of the room to the other loudly with all three cats chasing it madly. It sounds like they are having fun. Cat-er-cise!

More caffeine - because mornings should be illegal.

They are always ready to flee in the dark of night.
Or high noon, for that matter.

butters, if you walked the cat, you either have a very odd cat or you are a braver woman than I. :stuck_out_tongue:

Moooom, the dealership where I take my car washes, vacuums and washes the inside glass when I get my oil changed. They’re aiming to sell me my next Toyota, methinks.

sunny, if the cat is batting one around, does that mean that you’ve begun to lose your marbles?

It’s a busy day today. After irk, I have to go tour an apartment. I hope that this one suits me better than the last two I viewed did. I’m so ready to get this move over with.

I seem to remember a time, long ago and far away, when I could multitask.

**red **- on the rare occasions when I take the car to the dealer (twice for recalls) they’ll run it thru a car wash, but vacuum and windows? Not hardly.

I called **FCD **and woke him - I feel really bad about that. But I asked him to take the remote back to the cable company to get a new one since it was acting up, and we need to get a DTA converter for the bedroom TV - the signal will no longer work directly to the TV. Pain in the patoot, but what can you do?

When I take a car to the dealer, they “road test it” by driving it to pick up lunch.

Howdy Y’all! Irk has been survived once again and tomorrow is my Firday, so YAY! ‘Tis for real rainin’ even! I guess if they predict long enough, the weather PTB eventually get it right. Dindin shall be grilled poke chops, green beans, squish, and rolls. I shall actually cook. Go Me!

ruble I am impressed. A Luterun blessin’ over ice cream!

Mornin’ caffeine is best gotten from coffee the caffeine of Heaven. :stuck_out_tongue:

Just spoke with one mover. Less than impressed. We had a failure to communicate. The search continues.

Home. Got some laundry in the works, had lunch at 4pm and am resting a minute til I pack my bags. Supper here will be smoked pork chops, broccoli, green salad and something starchy. Starch will be either rice or taters. Since I just had lunch I’m not hungry yet.

This flight is usually sold out and last time they made an announcement that anyone willing to give up a seat would be well compensated. If that is offered in the morning I am all over it. Trying to surprise my son so I haven’t told many people I am coming up there. Something is just niggling in my brain about this trip.

Dindin has been ingested and the kitchen cleanded. Ice cream for later. All is good.

Butters I know that feelin’. You want to go but sump’n keeps sayin’ it’s not a good time. Then again, when is it ever goin’ to be a “good time” to go. Adultin’ ain’t for the faint hearted.

Majick Intertoobz pizza for supper - when it gets here… <tapping foot impatiently>

Definitely sleeping with Mel tonight, maybe Mel1 and Mel2.

Boss is going to be on vacation for the next 7 work days, so I had to stay late and get my assignments from him. He owes me half an hour.

Blurf.

The mortgage company is happy with the latest set of documents, or if they’re not, they haven’t told me yet. The homeowner’s insurance company, which had balked first at the age of the furnace, then at some additional paperirk that made the underwriter unhappy, has written the policy. I’ve learned that the world exists to make underwriters happy. So it’s smooth sailing until the appraisal, which I’m sure will cause a whole new set of problems.

So I’m going to call it a night and work on my idiotic youth protection course. The one that takes three hours to complete, and that is timed so you can’t just page through it. All because of Jerry fucking Sandusky. So fuck that guy, fuck Joe Paterno, and fuck Penn State for making my life difficult.

I have discovered that eating buttermilk pancakes in the morning will lead to a 2-hour nap in the afternoon.

Albeit my sample size is four breakfasts in the past month, but the conclusion seems solid to me.

Otherwise a pretty nothing week. Cloudy with a threat of rain later today. Need to sweep the house, but for some reason, plugging in and pushing the Hoover about the house is probably the chore I put off the most, when it probably is the easiest to do.

Bought a pair of goggles…my S. Africa trip includes a chance to do a white-water rafting trip, so I wanted something that would secure my glasses, even if I went into the water. Got a pair of ear plugs in the bargain, nice ones that really shut down the sound (I might even get some sleep on the 15-hr. flight).

Butters, I will include you in my traveller’s prayer; “Oh Lord, let the middle seat be empty.” (Doesn’t work very well, I’m afraid).

PS, just looked the NWS doppler, and some nasty weather is closing in on me. Tunder-boomers and rain expected shortly.

It got to 100 degrees F here in Topeka today. Humid too, I swear it’s a jungle out there.

I took my dog to the dog park, very briefly. The route takes me by the Westboro Baptist Church compound. You don’t even want to know what their sign says today.

baker, did you just happen to fly them a bird on the way past?

I’m tired, hungry and pissed, although not necessarily in that order.

I went to my appointment to tour the third apartment on my list (the first two didn’t suit me). Once I got there and began the application process, I found that the hard sell bitch totally misrepresented the rent rate online. The apartment came in at ~ $200 a month more than listed and it was already on the upper end of my range, so it would be roughly $400 more than I pay now. T sucks trying to find affordable housing in an “it” city.

Annnnd getting out from that location at 5 pm meant that the drive home took an hour and a half. A Sonic burger and tots are my supper tonight.

All packed and ready to go. Got the. Clock set for 0400, 0415, and 0430. One of those should get me up. That is if I can get to sleep at all. Laters.

Made it through work. The truck will be delayed till 10:30 tomorrow.

Baker, did you fling doggie poo at them?

Rockin’, fingers crossed on the mortgage.

Cats, when I make tea, I nuke the water, then pour over the teabag in the mug.

Butters, safe flight.

And we drive it like it isn’t ours both ways. Trust me on that one.

We motorcycle mechanics are even worse. I’ve often wheelied a Sportster; mine only once.

Sure! Now for Jell-o I would have pulled out some basic vestments ----- especially if it matched the proper ecclesiastical color.

Looks like rain is on the way - yay! Our yard can used a drink.

I got an email from my sister. We had a cousin who died some years back. Her son just died - by my math, he would have been 40-ish. I haven’t seem him since '79, and I wouldn’t have recognized him if he ran me over with a bus. So no hugs necessary, really. But, wow, it’s already starting with the generation after me… :frowning:

Mel kinda, sorta helped me sleep. I had just dozed off when **FCD **came in to check on me, waking me up in the process. So I had to begin falling asleep all over again. I woke around 2 or 3, then fell back to sleep till the alarm scared the crap out of me! Glad the week is almost done.

I’ve got leftover pizza for lunch, and the boss will be gone for the next 7 work days - huzzah for that! And I’m too far down the food chain to be left in charge - it falls to Billy. Poor Billy… So for Billy and for me: C’mon, Firday!!!

Happy Thursday or whatever.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up, caffeinated, and purtified so no YAWN. ‘Tis a cloudy 71 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 93 and rain/tstorms/apocalypse today. I was outside a few minutes ago and saw lightnin’ flashes in the distance but heard no thunder. Radar indicates storms headed this way. We shall see. We’re goin’ to Pearly’s for brekkie this mornin’. OYKW has a gnawin’ and a cravin’ for sausage gravy ‘n bizkits and since he’s buyin’ I’m eatin’.

ruble does a prayer for Jell-O[sup]TM[/sup] begin with the words, “Good Lord deliver us from…” ICK!

I hear rumblin’s from the bedroom so I reckon OYKW is ready to go. Good, cause I’s hongry!

Happy Thursday Y’all!
