Today’s adventure was taking Star, our little blind pup to the vet for her annual check up. One of her lenses has detached inside her eye. I knew something had changed, so I had already made the appointment with the eye specialist. Star is the sweetest little thing in the world. She really didn’t understand why strange people had to poke and prod and take rude measurements, but she put up with it all like a trooper.
I made cornbread for dinner. Mashed N.O.T. and leftover chikken to go with. Cookies for dessert. Could be worse.
I has intertubz again! Turns out the cover isn’t properly on the telephone pole & when the landscapers went to weedwhack, they assumed my cable was a weed & whacked it in two just above where it goes underground. :smack:
Why would one possibly want to do that?
The next time I put a whole head into a recipe when it calls for a clove won’t be the first & there’s an absolute minimum of three to four times the number of cloves thrown in as any recipe calls for. The bit pot of Thanksgiving jambalaya usually gets ≈ two heads of garlic (though some of the flavor cooks out), & a couple tablespoons of Tabasco.
I’m, uuuh, scared of vampires. Yeah, yeah, that’s it; scared of vampires.

**Spidey **- turns out we won’t be going. I was concerned about **FCD **walking around that much, even with his cane, despite his insistence that he’d be fine. But at his biker meeting last night, he found out about a local event that they’re participating in and he wants to do that. So I’ll be staying home, tending to domestical chores.
I’m in the office early, fairly well-rested. Shortly after 8 last night, I popped my meds and went to watch the Johnny Depp version of Willy Wonka until sleep took me. I don’t think I made it an hour. I woke twice during the night, but with about 6 hours in between, so I got some good sleep. There was some thunder and lightning around 10:30 or so - fortunately, it wasn’t bad enough to keep me up. West of here in Virginia, there were some really bad hail storms - the morning news showed cars with windows shattered or completely gone!
And when work’s over, I head to the credit union to meet with my spousal unit and our money guy. And that’s how my week will wrap up. Oh, the excitement!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis a cloudy and very muggy 74 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 98 and partly cloudy with a heat index around a hunnert and ten. :eek: I shall spend most of the day within the coolness of da cave needless to say.
CupCakes I did indeed achieve ice cream. Ima go to the sto’ this mornin’ to stock up on a few necessities, one of ‘em bein’ ice cream.
The big plan for the day is to somewhat defilthyfy da cave. Oh what fun! I like to live it up on a day off.
OK I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy is demandin’ sustenance. Then, onward into the day!
Curse you, you spoke too soon! :mad: They left yesterday morning and got to the general Fredericksburg VA area, when the transmission on their car went Tango Uniform. They are holed up there, and we are supposed to go take them to brekkies tomorrow if they don’t get out of town today.
I have cleanded the master bath and kitchen as well as dusted and vacuumed the master bedroom, livin’ room and dinin’ room. The rest of da cave looks presentable so I declare da cave to be all spiffed. Next on the agenda will be the sto’ as soon as I motivate. I need to motivate soon before it gets to ogawful hawt out.
Blurf! Happy Friday, everyone…I have had a vastly exciting day releasing marks to students at lunchtime. And so far I’ve only had one person asking why they have got a particular mark when they’ve already resubmitted work. One person is putting in an appeal that won’t get him anywhere, and someone else has decided they should have had special sits organised and might appeal on that basis. Joyous day indeed.
It looks to be sunny out, I haven’t stuck my head out the door yet today.
I finally fell asleep around 6ish, and then dozed off and on until I fell into a deep sleep right before I needed to get up for irk.
I’m a bit grumpy, some breakfast would probably help.
