Woke a bit after 4… it’s gonna be a long day. But:
HAPPY HO HO HO TO ALL!!!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 51 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 70 and mostly N.O.S. for the day, so a pleasant day in store weatherwise. The big plan of the day is the feast. The turkey breast is in the oven as I post. Other stuff will get baked or heated up at some point before one p.m., the appointed feast time. We shall nosh on snausage balls an quaff mimosas around elevenish.
MOOOOOOM glad FIL is relatively OK.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, since company is comin’, I suppose I should make myself presentable. Such bother!
MERRYCHRISTMAS
Y’ALL!!!
I hope everyone has a wonderful day no matter how you celebrate. Went to a dinner party last night featuring a standing rib roast, mashed Tate’s and gravy, and green bean casserole. Eggnog cake with custard for dessert. YUM! Today I’m chilling with Ursala Kitteh and will visit Miss Ariel at the barn.
I woke up around 0330, but I went back to sleep eventually. Almost 7 now. I’ll have three cups o’ joe before I make breakfast, then I can think about when I want to put the prime rib on.
:smack: We don’t have any snails. There’s one supermarket here that might have some, but I’m sure they’re closed today. I’ve just ordered six cans from Amazon. At least we’ll have dome for another day.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Making French Toast for breakfast.
MERRY
CHRISTMAS!!!
And Happy Humpday to the Mumpers who don’t celebrate.
Glad the FIL is going to be OK, Moooooommmm!!!.
‘Some for another day.’ :smack: Need more coffee.
MerryChristmas! to all who celebrate and a nice day off to those who don’t.
Glad your FIL wasn’t banged up too badly Moooooom. Getting a bump or breaking skin on the noggin is a bit scary when you’re on blood thinners.
Up, caffeinating, lazing around surfing the net and fixing to purtify and go for Thai/Lao with a friend.
Well I checked my stocking; no hookers or blow. So I guess its time to consider doing something productive. I may head for the basement and rejuvenate a couple old cleavers.
Merry Christmas everyone! We had gift opening very early and cooked breakfast. **Buddyboy ** was very happy with all his new toys.
I am going to start cooking in a little bit. Just waiting a bit since hubs is back to sleep.
Have a great day all.
A happy and healthy Xmas to all. Glad your FIL is back home for Christmas day, FCM.
Sunny if cool here near St. Louis, my brother and Sis-in-law are planning to grill steaks for dinner, while I have a MAS*H Christmas marathon on the TV (we watched 7 hours of reruns of the Westminister Dog show yesterday…). All the puppies are behaving today after nearly driving me crazy last night when I had sole duty while rest went to church.
It’s 60 and sunny in no. Illinois. Very unwinterlike and it’s giving me migraine. Went to the DMV to get my plates sticker. I was done in 17 minutes which was a record. Then went to work but came home because of the headache.
OH GOOD LORD WE KILLED THE ENTIRE DOPE FOR MOST OF A DAY!!!
I blame either The Grinch or Commies.
Now to get my system back on track with a lot of pointless things. I need pointless things.
Howdy! Glad it’s back. I would and did miss all y’all. Not much to report. Irking and today seems like Moanday. I went to the bank early for change and to deposit the check I got for Christmas to pay off my credit card bill. Nice gift honey.

Howdy Y’all! ‘Tis 73 Amurrkin out and partly cloudy but feels cooler than 73. The weather report is for Spidey because I know he looks forward to it each day.
This mornin’ I went over to the church house to take care of [del]church janitor[/del] Junior Warden chores and OYKW went to DDS (that’s DMV in Jawja speech) to renew his driver’s license. He left about fifteen minutes before I did. Right after I got to the church, he called me to tell me he was done. He was in and out in about twenty minutes! That has to be some kinda new DDS record! Anywho, I did my stuff and then we had a <snerk> Quickie <snerk> N.O.L. Right now he is snoozin’. Leftovers from yestiddy will take care of any need to feed.
Hope everyone had a nice Christmas or whatever it was you did. We ate, we drank, we made merry and everyone was gone by three o’clock. The dishwasher got loaded and turned on to do its thang. We achieved nappage as we were both wiped out.
Happy rest of Thursday Y’all!
Yay! Y’all came back.
Irked half a day today and am fixing to take the critter to the dog park.
Got a call this morning from the TV repairman. The 60" Vizio Mrs. L.A. bought a few years ago needs a new main board (which I’d guessed already). It will cost $300 to replace the board. I know she paid a lot for it, so I’m having it repaired.
So, the other day, Mrs. FtG had a thing in a large strip-mall/whatever complex. I decided to roam around and see if there was anything interesting I could find. (I did score a couple nice things at Home Depot, leaving just as they were locking the doors.)
I walked into Walmart. After 5pm. On Christmas Eve.

The horror! The horror!

I remembered my survival training: Back out slowly, don’t make eye contact.
(The parking lot was scary. A lot of people driving rapidly and recklessly. A person at the place Mrs. FtG was at said that they’d seen fistfights break out in the parking lot over accidents.)
It lives.
On a whim, I bought Mrs. L.A. a lottery scratcher ticket as a ‘stocking stuffer’ before Christmas. She said, ‘You paid $20 for this? Golly!’ She scratched it and said she didn’t think won anything. I told her, ‘Well… That’s why they call it “gambling”.’ I checked the ticket and didn’t see a winner. (I don’t play scratchers, so I’m not familiar with them.) Nevertheless, I took the ticket to the corner market and scanned it. I came home and told Mrs. L.A. I did; then I reached into my pocket and handed her $200 and said, ‘Merry Christmas!’
She cried.
She wanted to give me the $20 I’d spent on it, but I told her to donate it to St. Jude’s. She said she would give it to me, and I could donate it. So I will.
Congrats to your wife, flyboy; turns out you know what to get her for Christmas the next 20 years.
ftg, just told my family your Wal-mart remakrs and they heartily agreed with you.
wetone, hope the migrane is better. Weather is staying nice.
Butters, welcome back.
Since I was the last to post before the Great Christmas Outage, I will take responsibility for it. Took advantage of the nice weather and went ot the Zoo…the Zoo is free but parking is $10! Brother and family went to see Star Wars, I’ll eventually go see it but just not that interested. Hopefully the nice weather will last through tomorrow when I head back to N. Ali-bama.
